A$AP Rocky joked that he and Rihanna have apparently settled on a name for the newest addition to their family.
In a new interview with GQ, the rapper teasingly told the outlet that he’s planning to name their baby after his “Highest 2 Lowest” co-star Denzel Washington. “Denzel, no matter what,” he quipped after the interviewer asked him whether he would name their baby after the Oscar winner. “The first female come out named Denzel, it’s lit. We got it figured out.”
Rihanna first debuted baby No. 3 at the Met Gala in New York City in May. Rocky and the “We Found Love” singer, who have been romantically linked since 2020, welcomed sons RZA and Riot in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

The couple have not announced their little one’s due date as of yet.
Rocky appeared to reveal the sex of his and Rihanna’s third baby at the “Smurfs” world premiere in Brussels in June. Rihanna starred as Smurfette in the live-action animated film.
After Entertainment Tonight asked Rocky if their kiddo is “the girl you’ve been waiting for,” he responded, “It is, man, it is.”
Rocky then cheekily held up a Smurfette doll before hedging his answer, adding, “Right here, you know what I’m saying? Right here.”

Elsewhere in the GQ interview that was published Monday, the Grammy-nominated musician gushed over his favorite aspects of fatherhood.
“I think the evolution of who I am as a person, as an individual, as a dad, an artist, as far as being a parent at that time,” he said. “Just quite fucking interesting if you ask me, to see in front of everybody’s eyes how much I’ve been yearning to be a dad, and a loving dad.”
Rocky added: “So, I got nothing but love to give to these little ones. And as you can see, that’s what occupies a lot of my heart capacity, is my family.”
Rihanna Welcomes Third Child: A Baby Girl Named Rocki Irish Mayers Joins the Family
In a heartwarming announcement that has sent waves of joy across social media and celebrity circles, global icon Rihanna has officially become a mother of three. The Barbadian singer, entrepreneur, and fashion mogul revealed on Instagram that she and longtime partner A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child—a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers—on September 13, 2025. The news, shared just days ago, confirms months of speculation following Rihanna’s stylish pregnancy reveal at the 2025 Met Gala. Fans and fellow celebrities alike are flooding the comments with congratulations, celebrating the couple’s growing family and the arrival of their first little girl.
Rihanna’s post, a simple yet poignant carousel of images, captured the essence of new parenthood. The first photo shows the 37-year-old star cradling her newborn, Rocki swaddled in a soft pink blanket, her tiny face peeking out with a tuft of dark hair. A second image features a pair of miniature pink boxing gloves—a nod, perhaps, to A$AP Rocky’s Harlem roots and his passion for the sport. Captioned simply “Rocki Irish Mayers. Sept 13 2025 🎀,” the post has already amassed over a million likes and thousands of reposts on X (formerly Twitter), where users are dubbing the baby “the new queen of Fenty.” One viral X thread from fan account @RihannaNavyDaily exclaimed, “From Umbrella to baby bows—RiRi slays motherhood too! Congrats to the Mayers fam! 👶🏽💖 #RockiIrishMayers.”
The name Rocki, a playful diminutive of her father’s stage moniker A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers), upholds the couple’s cherished tradition of “R” monikers. Their firstborn son, RZA Athelston Mayers, arrived in May 2022, named after the Wu-Tang Clan producer, reflecting the family’s deep ties to hip-hop culture. Just over a year later, in August 2023, they welcomed Riot Rose Mayers, whose middle name honors Rihanna’s signature floral motifs in her music and beauty lines. “It’s always going to be an R name. That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over,” Rihanna teased in a June 2025 interview at the European premiere of The Smurfs Movie, where she playfully dodged questions about the baby’s gender. A$AP Rocky, 36, echoed the sentiment on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this year, confirming with a grin, “For sure.”
Sources close to the couple reveal that the birth was a low-key affair at a private Los Angeles hospital, allowing the family to bond away from the paparazzi glare. As whispers of the arrival began circulating online as early as mid-September, insiders told People magazine that A$AP Rocky wasted no time in orchestrating a intimate celebration the moment Rocki arrived. “Rocky planned it all—soft lighting, fresh flowers, and a playlist of their favorite tracks, including Rihanna’s classics mixed with his beats,” one source shared. “He even had custom pink boxing glove cookies made for the occasion. It was pure magic, just them and the boys welcoming their sister.” The rapper, known for his laid-back yet thoughtful persona, reportedly spent the first hours post-birth cooing over his daughter, calling her “my little champ” while Rihanna rested.
This joyous milestone comes after a pregnancy that Rihanna documented with her trademark flair for boundary-pushing maternity style. The couple first broke the news in May 2025 at the Met Gala, where A$AP Rocky served as co-chair for the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Rihanna turned heads by debuting her baby bump in a daring ensemble: a cropped black wool jacket, bustier bodysuit, and pinstripe skirt with a dramatic bustle, all custom Marc Jacobs. “It feels amazing, you know,” Rocky told reporters on the red carpet, his excitement palpable as he fielded congratulations. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy.” Photographer Miles Diggs captured the moment in a rain-soaked portrait of Rihanna, her bump proudly on display, which he shared on Instagram just before the event.
Throughout the summer, Rihanna continued to redefine pregnancy fashion. At the Brussels premiere of The Smurfs in late June, she stunned in a sheer baby-blue Chanel babydoll set that highlighted her growing belly, joking with Entertainment Tonight about the baby’s potential as a “Smurfette.” In Los Angeles for the film’s U.S. premiere, she opted for a luxurious chocolate-brown Saint Laurent fall 2025 gown, with sons RZA and Riot stealing the show in matching custom Dior outfits by Jonathan Anderson. “When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself: There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle,” Rihanna reflected in a 2022 Vogue interview, a philosophy she’s carried into this chapter. Her Fenty Beauty line even launched a limited-edition “Bump Glow” highlighter, inspired by her radiant pregnancy glow, which sold out in hours.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s love story, a blend of music, fashion, and unfiltered authenticity, has long captivated the public. They first crossed paths in 2012 at the MTV Video Music Awards, but sparks didn’t fly until 2019, when Rihanna described their connection as “internal, external, infinite—the past, the future.” Going public in 2021, the pair has been open about how fatherhood transformed Rocky. “Fatherhood is in my destiny, absolutely,” he told GQ after RZA’s birth, crediting Rihanna with making him a better man. Rihanna, in a 2023 Page Six chat, shared how their bond deepened post-kids: “Our relationship has gotten deeper since we welcomed our two boys.”
Parenting three under three hasn’t slowed their empire-building. Rihanna’s Fenty franchise continues to dominate beauty and lingerie, while Rocky’s AWGE creative agency thrives alongside his music ventures. Yet, they’ve prioritized family closeness, with sources noting the couple’s desire for siblings “close in age to grow up together and bond.” Rihanna has spoken glowingly of her sons’ personalities—RZA as the “protector” and Riot as the “wild one”—and hinted that Rocki might bring a softer energy to the mix. In a rare family photoshoot last year, the couple shared glimpses of domestic bliss, with Rocky rapping lullabies and Rihanna curating toddler wardrobes that rival high fashion.
The announcement has sparked a global outpouring of love. On X, trends like #RockiIrishMayers and #RihannaMomOfThree topped charts, with posts from A-listers like Beyoncé (“Welcome to the sisterhood, little one! 🌸”) and Travis Scott (“Uncle Trav ready to spoil her rotten 🔥”) amplifying the buzz. Fans reminisced about Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show in 2023, where she revealed her second pregnancy mid-performance, calling this birth “the encore we all needed.” Even earlier rumors from mid-September, when outlets like My Mixtapez reported the birth, built anticipation, with one X user quipping, “Rihanna dropping albums and babies—multitasking queen! 👑.”
As Rihanna eases into life with three kids, whispers of future projects swirl. Could a new album be on the horizon, perhaps inspired by motherhood’s rhythms? Or will Fenty expand into kidswear, with Rocki as the tiniest muse? For now, the focus is on family. “Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited,” an insider told People. In a world of flash and frenzy, this private joy feels like a diamond in the rough—a testament to love’s quiet victories.
