Landman Season 3: Release Date, Cast News, and More Details About Billy Bob Thornton’s Hit Show

To be honest, the Landman season 2 finale felt like a literal sunset ending for Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris. Though he was fired from M-Tex Oil by Cami (Demi Moore), that frees him up to launch his own oil company with his son Cooper (Jacob Lofland), who is no longer being charged with the murder of the man who attacked his fiancĂ©e, Ariana (Paulina ChĂĄvez). Sure, cartel boss Gallino (Andy Garcia) warns of retribution should their latest partnership take a turn for the worse, but that’s just par for the course in the Landman universe.

Even Tommy’s daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) wrapped up her B-storyline on a warm and fuzzy note, sticking up for her nonbinary college roommate Paigyn (Bobbi Salvör Menuez) after her dismissal of they/them pronouns in the previous episode. Perhaps this will open her—and the viewers that celebrated the “anti-woke” moment—up to new perspectives.

So yeah, things are looking up for the Norris family, if only for a moment. “You know, honey, the time is coming when tragedy is going to dominate our days,” Tommy tells his ex-wife turned fiancĂ© Angela (Ali Larter). “Maybe it’s me—maybe it’s cancer, maybe my mind goes, and I’ll wake up one morning, and I won’t have a clue who you are. Or God forbid, maybe it’s you, car wreck or whatever. But not today. Today, we win.”

She’s more confident, replying, “Baby, I win every day. You do too, you just don’t see it, but it’s there, it’s all around you. Just gotta take the time to notice.”

While that would make for a great closing line, co-creator Taylor Sheridan is going to test that theory in season three, as Paramount+ has already renewed the hit Western drama for another round. Here’s everything we know about Landman season 3, from the release date to cast news.

Landman was renewed in December 2025.

On December 5, Deadline reported that the series had been renewed for a third season.

When will Landman season 3 be released?

Paramount+ has not announced an official release date, but you’re probably safe to circle November 2026 on your calendar. Co-creator Christian Wallace confirmed the show is back in production this May and hopes to continue their yearly release schedule.

Which cast members have confirmed they’re coming back?

It wouldn’t be Landman without Billy Bob Thornton, who recently told USA Today that he had signed on for “four or five” years of Landman and will continue “for as long as they’ll have me.”

Sam Elliot, who plays Tommy’s dad, T.L., has also confirmed his involvement, according to Wallace. “A lot of it happened in this season, but there’s still a lot of baggage to deal with,” Elliot told The Hollywood Reporter in November. It’s a lot of fun working with Billy. It’s very emotional for me—this part and this full season. Moreso maybe than most of the other things I’ve done. But it’s fun doing it.”

Ali Larter and Kayla Wallace, who plays Tommy’s trusted lawyer and newly appointed COO, Rebecca, will also return, based on their celebratory Instagram posts.

Will Demi Moore return for Landman season 3?

No word yet, but Moore recently told Glamour that her first foray into television took her “out of my comfort zone” in a positive way. “To be shooting 10 episodes and have no idea where it’s going challenges your sense of control,” she said. “As an actor, it’d be like going into a movie, but not knowing what the ending is. But doing the accent, playing this woman, was a lot of fun for me. It had a lightness in the seriousness.”
