The Black Sabbath frontman’s final post left fans feeling emotional
Late rock star Ozzy Osbourne posted an emotional final social media post on Instagram just one day prior to his death.
The Black Sabbath frontman was 76 years old when his family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement.
Osbourne’s passing came just weeks after his final performance as part of the heavy metal band.
The statement from his family read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,” they concluded.
Black Sabbath also took to social media to share a tribute to their late lead singer, in addition to many other figures in the music industry.

In the heavy metal band’s tribute, they simply wrote ‘Ozzy Forever’, accompanied by a snap of Osbourne in his iconic throne on stage.
Fans took to the comments to thank the nicknamed ‘Prince of Darkness’, but many took to Osbourne’s final post on Instagram to leave their condolences.
The British artist’s last post was a snap of poster promoting his benefit concert at Villa Park, Birmingham, on 5 July.
Titled ‘Back to the Beginning’, Osbourne performed solo and with his band Black Sabbath, alongside other music legends such as Steven Tyler of Aersosmith, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, and performances from legends such as Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Slayer.
It was also Black Sabbath’s first performance with its original lineup of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Osbourne, since 2005.

The poster showed the four band members back in their heyday, accompanied with 70s-style text of the concert name and each of their names.
It came days after posts promoting Osbourne’s performance and upcoming film, Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, due for a release in 2026, celebrating the impact of both Osbourne and Black Sabbath.
The snap was a change from the former posts with a personal touch, as it looked to be snapped on a phone.
One fan wrote in the comments: “Rest in peace – thank you for everything,” with another adding: “The Prince of Darkness Forever.”
A third penned: “We will never forget you, legend! Rip.”

Ronnie Wood, a member of the Rolling Stones who performed at Back To The Beginning, also paid his respects.
“I am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne, what a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham,” the 78-year-old wrote.
Metallica also took to Instagram to post a classic photo of the heavy metal band with the Black Sabbath frontman, captioning the post with a broken heart emoji.
