‘Maxton Hall’ to return for season 3 on Prime Video: All about the upcoming instalment

If the first two seasons of Maxton Hall have taught us anything, it’s that nothing comes easy for James and Ruby. Perhaps a third season, which was confirmed to be the final instalment before season 2 arrived, will change that. Adapted from Mona Kasten’s bestselling Save Me trilogy, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us has become one of Prime Video’s most successful global originals. Led by Damian Hardung (James) and Harriet Herbig-Matten (Ruby), the coming-of-age romantic drama is about young love, betrayal, power tussles and ambitions.

Season 2 ended with Ruby’s suspension, James’ family empire facing dangerous losses, and an eerie final moment with Percy hinting at secrets buried deeper than anyone imagined. What could be the potential plot?

Season 2 of Maxton Hall ended with much drama. Ruby got wrongfully suspended after Headmaster Lexington (played by Thomas Douglas) received a photo, misleading him to believe she had an affair with Professor Sutton (played by Eidin Jalali). Meanwhile, the devious Mortimer Beaufort (played by Fedja van Huêt) snatched away the family empire.

If that wasn’t enough, in the closing scene of season 2, Percy (played by Hyun Wanner), the loyal chauffeur of the Beaufort family and a father-like figure to James and Lydia, was seen quietly mourning Cordelia’s (played by Clelia Sarto) death at her grave. He kisses a key-shaped locket, similar to the one donned by Cordelia and looks at the sky.

This particular sequence has left viewers wondering if Percy might be more than just the loyal chauffeur. After all, Percy had told Ruby earlier that he grew up alongside Cordelia.

Now, what could season 3 bring? Like most adaptations of books, season 3 of Maxton Hall may vary a bit, but if the show follows its source mostly, fans can expect things to finally resolve.

In the book, Save Us, Ruby doubts James initially but quickly realises something darker was at play: Mortimer and Cyril Vega (played by Ben Felipe), a close friend of James, were the ones behind sabotaging her Oxford dreams. Meanwhile, Lydia announces her pregnancy.

In the end, truth prevails. Ruby’s name is cleared, and James chooses his future over his father’s empire. The truth about Cordelia’s will also comes to light, and the Beaufort twins inherit their mother’s business and wealth.

Based on the previous two seasons and the social media updates shared by Prime Video Germany, it is likely that most of the cast will stay the same for the upcoming final season of Maxton Hall, unless announced otherwise.

Is there a tentative release date for Maxton Hall season 3?

No.

A release date for Maxton Hall season 3 has not been announced yet. Earlier in June 2025, before the release of the second season, the makers had confirmed that season 3 was already in the making with their social media updates.

Based on the timelines of previous seasons, it’s very likely that Maxton Hall Season 3 will be released before the end of 2026. Season 2 was filmed in the summer of 2024 and premiered in November 2025.
