Based on Ali Novak’s Wattpad novel of the same name, season 1 of My Life With the Walter Boys hit Netflix on December 7, 2023, with a sophomore season following suit on August 28, 2025. The show follows the story of Jackie Howard, a 15-year-old Manhattanite whose whole life is turned upside down after she loses her parents and sister in an accident. She then has to move to Colorado with her guardian, Dr. Katherine Walter, who was her mother’s best friend at Columbia University.

Yes! Netflix confirmed that production for My Life With The Walter season 3 was underway on August 6, 2025, before season 2 even premiered.

In a video shared across Netflix’s socials, the show’s three leading stars — Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry —each hold up two fingers and slowly start to hold up a third. “When you are still waiting for season 2, but we just started production on season 3,” the on-screen text reads.

Filming for the show takes place at the Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Canada. According to Netflix, filming for season 2 of the show wrapped in mid-November 2024. The Directors Guild of Canada has shared that production for Season 3 is believed to have begun on June 6, 2024, with a projected four-month filming schedule set to conclude by early December, so a timeline similar to Season 2’s feels realistic.

Season 2 of My Life With the Walter Boys ends on a massive cliffhanger, after Cole and Jackie confess their love to each other, with not only Alex overharing but Cole and Alex’s father, George, suffering a medical emergency right nearby. So, it’s safe to assume season 3 will prioritize both the love triangle and George’s situation, at least at the beginning. “It’s like, where do you go from here, genuinely?” says Nikki Rodriguez.

“I love the teenage stories and what we do with those characters. But I think we have a lot of potential to tell stories that are intergenerational. I’d love to be able to do more of that in Season 3,” creator Melanie Halsall told Tudum. Speaking to Variety, she continued: “The love triangle is fantastic, of course, and I could see how audiences would be really drawn to that. But what I also loved about it was the ensemble around that … You have all these characters you can create stories for, focusing on the love triangle in the middle.”

Speaking to Deadline, Halsall also explained that “this season has been about Jackie struggling with her identity and wanting to cement herself in Silver Falls and in the family” and that “with George’s collapse, [she] wanted to blow a hole in the entire family set-up at the end – not just in the love triangle.” She added: “We’re at the beginning of filming and there is a huge amount of story still to come. I can’t say what those things will be, but I can say that we will be delving even deeper into the lives and loves of our characters in new and unexpected ways.”

It’s worth noting that season 3 might have a chance to steer in any direction, with no direct book as a reference.

Netflix has also officially confirmed that Nikki Rodriguez will be reprising her role as Jackie Howard in season 3 of My Life With The Walter Boys as a series regular. Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry will also return as Cole and Alex Walter, respectively.

The rest of the Walter family (which, if you’ve watched the show, you’d know, is a lot of people) are also expected to return for My Life With the Walter Boys season 3 and include Sarah Rafferty, Marc Blucas, Connor Stanhope, Johnny Link, and Corey Fogelmanis. Jaylan Evans, who plays Skylar Summerhill, became a series regular in season 2 and will also likely return.
