Spending nine total weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, KPop Demon Hunters has ended up back on top of the chart. However, this week, Netflix has a new mystery thriller featuring an MCU star in its Global Top 10, and it’s at least challenging the animated smash hit for the top spot.
Night Always Comes Becomes A Global Netflix Hit
Night Always Comes Trailer
Night Always Comes has become a global Netflix hit. Directed by Benjamin Caron, with a script written by Sarah Conradt based on the 2021 novel by Willy Vlautin, Netflix’s new crime thriller follows a woman who, facing eviction in a city her family can no longer afford, embarks on a desperate and increasingly dangerous quest overnight to raise $25,000.
Now, just days after its release on August 15, Night Always Comes ranks second on Netflix’s Global Top 10 movies for the week of August 11â17 with 11.3 million views and 20.8 million hours viewed. It ranks below KPop Demon Hunters and above My Oxford Year, Happy Gilmore 2, Home, Megamind, Elektra, Kandahar, Fixed, and Despicable Me 2.
Our Take On Night Always Comes’ Netflix Success

The release of Night Always Comes on Netflix is well-timed, coming soon after The Fantastic Four: First Steps debuted in July. Those coming to the Netflix film from the MCU movie shouldn’t be disappointed, as Vanessa Kirby delivers a powerhouse performance, similar to her Oscar-nominated turn in Pieces of a Woman.
However, Night Always Comes itself may not deliver fully for some, indicated by its 57% Rotten Tomatoes score, with many citing its lack of focus, reliance on clichés, and failure to deliver on its themes.
