‘Forever,’ Mara Brock Akil’s reimagining of the Judy Blume novel, will also return; Michelle Buteau’s ‘Survival of the Thickest’ gets a final season.

In case you’re the one who doesn’t subscribe to Netflix, we’re here to tell you that it has a lot a lot of content. And on Wednesday, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria renewed a whole bunch of it. She also announced a whole bunch more.
Newly announced (in alphabetical order) are Bridgerton seasons five and six, Forever season two, Love on the Spectrum season four, competition series Million Dollar Secret season two, teen drama My Life with the Walter Boys season three, Survival of the Thickest season three, The Diplomat season four and a second season of Tina Fey’s The Four Seasons.
The third season for Michelle Buteau’s Survival of the Thickest will also be its last, we learned; Bajaria shared the news from the stage at Netflix’s Wednesday upfront.
The Diplomat season three premieres this fall, when Bradley Whitford joins Keri Russell, Allison Janney and Rufus Sewell in the cast, so season four is an early renewal.
The Four Seasons, a reimagining of the 1981 feature film of the same name, has been renewed for an eight-episode second season.
The Four Seasons follows six old friends on a relaxing weekend away, only to learn that one couple in the group — Kate (Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani) — are about to break up.
“We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cozy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub,” co-creators and co-showrunners Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield said in a statement. “See you on our next vacation together!”
Fisher also directs the series.
Forever is Mara Brock Akil’s reimagining of the Judy Blume novel; Akil’s centers around two Black teens in Los Angeles.
Docuseries Love on the Spectrum follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships.
Million Dollar Secret, hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, is “a game of wit, cunning and deception” in which a dozen strangers meet at a lakeside estate. They each get a box, of which contains $1 million. And it’s all theirs, so long as they can keep their identity a secret; a million dollar secret.
