Troubling details emerge in disappearance of ex-Giant Sam Beal: ‘If I was gone nobody would even care’
A missing persons report filed with the Kentwood Police Department in Michigan is giving more insight into former Giant Sam Beal at the time of his disappearance seven months ago.
A witness told police Beal had made statements such as “if I was gone nobody would even care” along with similar comments from 2023 to 2025, according to a police report obtained by The Post through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Beal, who the Giants took in the third round of the 2018 supplemental draft, has not been seen or heard from since July 2025, after dropping his girlfriend off at a family member’s home and borrowing her car to go to work.
Beal then drove to Virginia Beach and has not been seen since.
The missing persons report suggested that Beal had been going through a hard time following the end of his NFL career and that he had gone to jail from September 2024 to February 2025 for unpaid child support on a child from a previous relationship.
In the report, police said that the witness told them that Beal “had made statements such as ‘If I was gone nobody would even care.’”
“She stated that she specifically remembers one time when there was a tornado in the area and Samuel stated that he would be fine if that tornado would just swoop him up and take him,” the report continued.

The witness also stated to investigators that after Beal had gotten out of jail he had “seemed a little off.”
TMZ reported on Friday that Beal had stopped taking medication that he’d been prescribed.
According to the police report, which had some information redacted, Beal had been working at Amazon in Kentwood, and a miscommunication between Beal’s family and the witness led to the delayed filing of a missing person’s report with police, which didn’t start until August after his parole agent told the witness that Beal had missed a check in on Aug. 6, 2025.
Beal’s disappearance has made headlines this week after his sister Essence Zhane put out a public plea on social media on Monday asking for help on finding any new information on the whereabouts of the former football player.
Kentwood PD told The Post this week that there were no updates to provide on the case.
The Virginia Beach Police Department told The Post in a statement that it “is aware of the situation and is actively supporting the department of record, the Kentwood Police Department, in their ongoing investigation.”

An NFL Players Association spokesperson confirmed to The Post that it was aware of the situation and that the organization had no further comment.
Beal is not known to have any connections to the Virginia Beach area, according to the report.
Investigators have made multiple attempts to contact Beal, according to the report, contacted the Virginia Beach PD and been in touch with hospitals in that area.
Beal played in nine games in his time with the Giants, starting three of his six appearances in 2019 and adding three games in 2021 after having played his college football at Western Michigan.
In an interview with WTKR in Virginia, Zhane gave a heartfelt message to her brother.
“I love you and I would do anything to get one of those hugs from you,” she told the outlet. “Your babies miss you; they act just like you. I’m sorry if you ever felt like I didn’t check for you enough, but I was always checking for you.”
