Six soulmates pack up for their seasonal vacations, but one couple’s divorce news rocks the boat in this half-hour comedy series premiering this May

Tina Fey’s new cozy comedy series “The Four Seasons” at Netflix has landed a spring premiere date alongside a new trailer.
Based on the 1981 feature film of the same name, the comedy series follows six old friends on their seasonal vacations. However, their decades-long friendships hit a road block as one of the couples announces they are getting a divorce.
Co-created by Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, “The Four Seasons” celebrates long-lasting adult friendships and the soulmate-like love they provide. Fey stars alongside Will Forte, Steve Carell, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani as the three best friend couples.
“It’s rare to find your soulmate and yet somehow all six of us have done it,” Forte’s Jack says in Thursday’s first teaser for the series.
Elsewhere, the couples laugh, drink and raise their voices as they navigate their lives on vacation. Whether they are weathering tropical storms or ski lifts, the couples bring joy and hard truths to light.
Carell and Kenney-Silver pretend to be zombies and almost get run over, Domingo catches Fey and Forte having morning sex in their friends’ bed and the “Office” star also cuts his foot wide open.

“Tracey, Lang and I have talked about the show being a love letter to long-term relationships, both platonic and romantic, because your life is ideally more than just the person you’re married to,” Fey said in a statement. “Sometimes when you are struggling with something with just your spouse, you need a group of friends to bring humor to it. Those friendships really help marriages, I think. Having a person who just fulfills a part of you that your spouse can’t quite is very important.”
The Netflix series produced by Universal Television will have eight half-hour episodes and will premiere on Thursday, May 1.
