Suits concluded in 2019 after running for nine seasons, but there’s another legal drama that fans of the TV show should watch in addition to the current spinoff. Starring Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, as Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, respectively, Suits is undoubtedly one of the most popular legal dramas. Six years after the hit series ended, a spinoff of Suits called Suits LA debuted on NBC on February 23, 2025.

Part of Suits’ charm and the reason it was so popular is its unconventional premise and the show’s high stakes, particularly regarding Mike’s character. Although Aaron Korsh’s series had to make a lot of changes following the departure of Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling book series, The Lincoln Lawyer centers around Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller, a defense lawyer from LA famous for working out of the back of his Lincoln. Similar to Suits, The Lincoln Lawyer has larger-than-life characters dealing with high-stakes cases and situations.

The Lincoln Lawyer’s focus on court proceedings is something that fans of Suits will like. The great writing, strong performances by its cast, and characters that audiences can’t help but root for are some of the things that make The Lincoln Lawyer such a fun show. Although it’s obvious that Suits and The Lincoln Lawyer are very different series, they have a lot of important things in common.

While Suits and The Lincoln Lawyer are both legal dramas, they are completely different shows. The two TV shows don’t have the same format. Suits typically has a new case or client in almost every episode, whereas The Lincoln Lawyer deals with one case until the season concludes. Further, Harvey and Mike’s relationship was the backdrop of Suits before Patrick J. Adams left the series. As much as Suits is about legal proceedings, Mike and Harvey’s relationship played a huge part in what made the series so entertaining in the first place.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 will be based on Michael Connelly’s The Law of Innocence. The main characters in The Lincoln Lawyer and Suits are also polar opposites. Harvey is cocky and isn’t afraid of breaking rules, whereas Mickey is the opposite. The types of cases that are featured in the two legal dramas are also quite different. Suits includes a range of legal disputes, from civil to criminal cases. The Lincoln Lawyer, on the other hand, mainly focuses on murder cases. Despite these differences, both Suits and The Lincoln Lawyer are incredibly entertaining legal dramas that people who enjoy the genre would like.
