Now streaming: A widowed mom’s blind date spirals into a digital nightmare She steps out for a chance at love… until an anonymous message drops on her phone. Suddenly, every moment is a threat: her child’s life, a masked stranger in her home, and a chilling ultimatum—do what they say, or face unbearable consequences. This tense, modern thriller will have you watching every notification in horror.

From underrated throwback flicks to Denzel Washington classics, I’ve seen my fair share of thriller films. However, I’ve never seen anything quite like this bone-chilling movie starring The White Lotus alum Meghann Fahy.

Universal Pictures just released the first official trailer for the fast-paced mystery Drop, which will hit theaters on April 11.

The trailer introduces viewers to the terrifying story line, which focuses on a widowed mother, Violet (Fahy), who steps out of her comfort zone to go on a blind date. (If the male actor looks familiar, that’s probably because Brandon Sklenar also starred as Atlas in It Ends With Us.)

Everything is going smoothly—well, until Violet receives an AirDrop with a threatening message. It doesn’t take long for the mysterious sender to “drop” a heart-stopping video of Violet’s son, along with footage of a masked gunman lurking in her house. The worst part?

“If you tell your date, your son dies,” the troll writes.

In addition to Fahy and Sklenar, Drop also stars Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson and Ed Weeks. The thriller is directed by Christopher Landon, who has helmed multiple successful horror flicks including We Have a GhostFreaky and Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Oh, and did I mention that filmmaker Michael Bay (Transformers) served as a producer alongside Jason Blum (M3GAN)?

If Fahy looks familiar, that’s probably because she has multiple noteworthy titles on her resume. She portrayed Sutton on The Bold Type and starred as Daphne Sullivan in season two of The White Lotus. (The latter earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.) She also appeared in Netflix’s The Perfect Couple alongside Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning.

Let the countdown to April 11 begin. Gulp.
