Amidst the Snow White controversy, Rachel Zegler’s social media moves puts one absurd argument against the actress to shame.
Although the movie fails to stand out among other live-action Disney remakes, some criticisms against Zegler don’t exactly hold any water, especially given that she is arguably the best part of the movie.
Rachel Zegler continues to express her beauty amidst controversy
Similar to The Little Mermaid, the casting of a non-white star in the Snow White remake ruffled several feathers on the internet, and Zegler’s comments about the original movie further added to the controversy. While the ethics surrounding remaking original classics are debatable, the issues with this remake mostly lie with Disney’s practices.

However, this hasn’t stopped trolls from painting Zegler as the villain of the story, which also had to do with her stance on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Some trolls have even gone as far as to deem Zegler too ugly for Snow White, and even though beauty is pretty subjective, this argument makes no sense.
But all this drama hasn’t stopped the Snow White star from expressing herself on social media, which further makes the arguments surrounding her appearance invalid, to say the least.
Pedro Pascal didn’t hesitate to support Rachel Zegler
Although most, including Disney, have seemingly turned a blind eye to the hate wagon surrounding Rachel Zegler, this hasn’t stopped Pedro Pascal from coming to the West Side Story star’s support (via IG). Often regarded as one of the realist figures in showbiz, The Last of Us star has been prominent for being vocal about marginalized communities, and similar to Zegler, he hasn’t shied away from speaking on the Gaza situation.

Moreover, Pascal, who previously gushed about the Shazam 2 star’s performance in West Side Story, recently deemed her an icon. While he did find himself in the crosshairs of controversy as a result, this has done little to shake the internet’s favorite daddy, which is evident with his comment in Zegler’s latest post, to which she replied, “I love You papá”.
As for her future endeavors, even though the toxicity from these factions has been pretty overwhelming, given her acting prowess, it’s safe to say she isn’t going anywhere despite the Snow White debacle.
Snow White is currently running in theatres.
