While on a short break during her record-breaking world tour, Shakira graced the 2025 Met Gala red carpet wearing a stunning custom Prabal Gurung number. She posed for photos before answering some questions from the journalists that lined the red carpet. The Latin superstar spoke with NBC Los Angeles and was asked who she was most excited to see tonight.

“Rihanna! I want to see her. I want to see her so bad, and I just heard the news too,” Shakira told the reporter of her former collaborator on the 2017 hit, “Can’t Remember to Forget You.” When the reporter asked what news she was referring to, Shakira excitedly clarified, “She’s pregnant.” It seemed to be news to the reporters on the carpet who hadn’t seen the singer leave her hotel earlier that day in a gray two piece set revealing her third pregnancy.

When the “She Wolf” singer realizes that she might have spoiled the surprise, she put her hands on her face in embarrassment and asked, “Am I not supposed to say that?” After a beat, however, the star laughed it off before moving on to the next interview.

When Rihanna walked the carpet, a reporter asked the “Work” singer what she’s most relieved about now that she revealed the news of baby number three. “I feel a lot better that I don’t have to suck my stomach in anymore,” she replied.
