Two last-minute changes added a touch of chaos to Britain’s Got Talent
The live Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals started last night (26 April) but it seems they’ve been thrown into chaos already.
Oh yeah, you read that correctly, they’ve changed the format of the ITV talent show this year, so the semi-finals air every Saturday rather than during the week.
But it wasn’t particularly smooth running as an act ended up pulling out with hosts Ant and Dec not able to believe what happened.
Not just one, but two acts had to delay taking to the stage with the pro presenters forced to think on their feet.
After a lengthy introduction, Teddy Magic was all set up to perform his act but he then didn’t appear on stage. It wasn’t quite clear why the eight-year-old hadn’t come out but most of the BGT judges were fine with it.

Ant broke the news: “Now, Teddy isn’t quite ready backstage yet…so we’re just going to chat to you judges,” while Dec added: “We’re going to have a little change of plan.”
And Ant completed: “Just while he gets himself ready and composed backstage.”
The pair began chatting with the judges but Simon Cowell didn’t quite play along as he asked: “Wait, so the act’s not ready?” The crowd ended up booing at the judge’s reaction as Ant told him to ‘back off’ for the youngster.
A confused Cowell declared: “You’ve got to be ready. We’re fine.”
Later in the night, ahead of the public vote, Dec confirmed Teddy had pulled out of the semi-final as he said: “Unfortunately, Teddy won’t be performing tonight but we hope to see him later in the series.”
Scottish singer Vinnie McKee took to the stage in a line-up shake-up which led to a bit of a fumble for judge Amanda Holden.
One viewer pointed out on Twitter that she referred to Vinnie as ‘Teddy’. They wrote: “What a shambles. Doesn’t even know the names of the acts.”

With one schedule change already happening, dance troupe The Blackouts then had a further delay.
The group were Holden’s Golden Buzzer act and perform with LED lights strapped on to them.
“You’re not going to believe this, but they’re not quite ready,” Dec said.
And that meant viewers had to watch as the hosts chatted to the judges again.
With people watching thinking Cowell was p**sed off over the schedule changes, the pair cracked a joke with him about the chaos as they asked if he was ‘having fun’.
But the head judge revealed he doesn’t actually look at the running order so has ‘no idea who is coming on’.
“Neither do we tonight!” said Ant and Dec as Bruno Tonioli chimed in: “No one knows what’s going on!”
Britain’s Got Talent continues next Saturday 3 May at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
