Shoppers laughed when they discovered products covered in GINO D’Acampo’s yellow “You’re kidding us, right” stickers?

GINO D’Acampo has been dealt a fresh blow amid misconduct allegations against him – as the prices of his cookware range in Asda have been slashed.

The under-fire chef first launched his kitchenware collection with the supermarket in October 2023, but shoppers have been left giggling after spotting the products covered in yellow stickers. Gino D'Acampo cookware on sale at Asda.

The huge reductions come as Gino battles accusations by multiple women of “sexually inappropriate” and “intimidating” behaviour.

TikTok user Em shared a video of Gino’s range in her local Asda, including packs of wine glasses and other items in the clearance section.

The yellow sticker on the box showed packs of four wine glasses had been reduced from £18 to just £4.50.

“Asda reducing Gino’s products after the allegations is such a slay from them,” Em wrote over the top of the video.

“This is so funny!” she added in the caption.

Others commented to say they’d be taking full advantage of the discounts.

“Why do I care if he made an inappropriate comment?” one wrote.

“I’m getting a whole new set of pans for cheap!”

“I mean it was a win for me – I bought his 7 set when I moved into my new house on discount and my mum loved them,” another said.

“Good time to buy, it’s a win win for the consumer!” a third said.

“Gonna go get the lot tomorrow!” someone else wrote.

“Brought his whole pan set as it was half price,” another added.

However, others insisted the reductions weren’t related to the allegations against Gino.

“They are discontinued lines – nothing to do with the allegations,” one wrote.

“These things are planned a year in advance… people are so quick to judge without the facts!”

“This items were being reduced before any allegations,” another agreed.

“No-one has any proof,” a third wrote.

How to save at Asda

Shop the budget range

Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.

She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.

“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.

 Sign up to Asda Rewards

The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.

She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.

“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.

“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.

Look out for booze deals

Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.

She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.

“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.

“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”

Join Facebook groups

The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.

Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.

“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.

“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.

“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”

Gino, 48, has “firmly denied” all the allegations against him, calling them “deeply upsetting”.

“I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago,” he said in a statement.

“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone.

“This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.

“Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.

“I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of.

“I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.”
