Naturally, Detective Cordelia Cupp solved the mystery of who killed White House Chief Usher A.B. Wynter by the end of The Residence‘s eight episodes. It was a fun twist that brought her adventures in the White House to a close. While Netflix has yet to confirm whether there will be a The Residence season 2, the first season’s impressive 85 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes makes this prospect seem promising. The big question is whether Aduba’s Detective Cupp would return to the White House for another murder mystery or if another famous residence would serve as the setting for season 2.
Buckingham Palace Would Be The Perfect Setting For The Residence Season 2
What Better To Follow Up The White House?

While the title of The Residence appears to refer specifically to the White House in season 1, it could easily apply to a new location in a second season. After the United States presidential mansion, the logical next step for The Residence season 2 would be Buckingham Palace, the royal residence in London, England. The home of King Charles III is much larger than the White House, with 775 rooms compared to the 132 discussed in season 1. Buckingham Palace also has a much larger staff, which would provide the Netflix series with more options for victims and suspects for Cupp to explore.
Each Season Of Uzo Aduba’s Netflix Show Could Be Set At A Different Famous “Residence”
Buckingham Palace Is Only The Beginning

Perhaps even Elvis’ famed Graceland mansion could be the setting for a future season of The Residence.
The Residence season 2 being set at Buckingham Palace would establish an exciting trend for the Netflix series. Each subsequent season could be set at a new famous “residence” around the world. Perhaps season 3 could be set at the Tokyo Imperial Palace, while season 4 brings Detective Cordelia Cupp to the Quirinal Palace. Given The Residence‘s comedic approach to murder, really anything could go—perhaps even Elvis’ famed Graceland mansion could be the setting for a future season of The Residence. Only time will tell what route Netflix will take. For now, the sky is the limit.
