Netflix shared the portrait of Gaga in-character as Rosaline on X/Twitter (as seen below), along with the caption: “A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood.” The photograph shows Gaga dressed in a plain, ethereal white outfit, which is a far-cry from some of her more glitzy and outrageous concert costumes and award show looks. Her face is turned towards the camera, with her piercing eyes framed by her platinum blonde eyebrows, matching her flowing ashy locks draped behind Thing on her shoulder.
Gaga is just one of several new faces appearing in Wednesday Season 2. The show also added Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor as series regulars and Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo in guest roles as part of a bold expansion to further bolster the star-studded ensemble who featured in the first season and returned for the show’s sophomore run — the first part of which debuted in August.

The streaming giant handed out an early season renewal for Wednesday in July, meaning Ortega and the rest of the creepy and kooky (and all together ooky) misfits will be returning for a third season. Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar receiving the greenlight to work on a new chapter in the Gothic halls of Nevermore — before the second season had even debuted — was a strong vote of confidence from Netflix, which sent out a powerful signal to critics and audiences that the show was back on top form and far from being over.
It is not yet known what will be on Wednesday‘s syllabus heading into the third season, or whether Ortega will grace the screen with any other pop stars in the wake of Mother Monster’s highly anticipated appearance, but the forthcoming episodes will no doubt set up some significant mysteries and an inevitable cliffhanger to keep viewers invested in what’s to come.
