Wednesday’s writers have stated that the Joseph Crackstone conspiracy from season 1 has come to a close. Yet, it seems that many of the character’s problems will follow her into Wednesday season 2, such as her elusive stalker, who was introduced in the season finale. Before diving into the series’ newest episodes, there are a few pivotal plot points fans will need to catch up on.
10Wednesday’s Visions Cannot Be Controlled
Learning To Harness Her Powers Could Be Wednesday’s Biggest Challenge Yet

Like her mother, Wednesday Addams has visions of the future at the beginning of the series. As time progresses, her visions become both psychic and telepathic.
Wednesday communicates with her ancestor, Goody Addams, but she also witnesses events of the past as if she were there herself. While not always the case, Wednesday’s powers in the Netflix series are mainly triggered when she touches something of great importance.
Season 1 revealed that Wednesday’s mother, Morticia, also struggled with similar visions. However, unlike her daughter, Morticia’s visions were much more positive, setting them apart as a Dove (Morticia) and a Raven (Wednesday). Wednesday’s visions certainly come in handy as she takes on the role of detective, but Morticia warns her that without proper control, she may risk losing her mind.
9Rowan Attempted To Kill Wednesday
Wednesday Was Thought To Be Nevermore’s Greatest Threat

Seemingly harmless at first, Rowan, an outcast in a school of outcasts, mostly sticks to himself and avoids any sort of unnecessary attention. However, things change when he discovers remnants of his mother’s prophecy, which depicts Wednesday and Joseph Crackstone, the town of Jericho’s founder, standing aside what appears to be Nevermore, engulfed in flames.
Determined to put a stop to the prophecy in which Wednesday destroys school, Rowan concocts a plan to kill her. At the town’s Harvest Festival, he lures Wednesday into the woods, then, using his telekinetic powers, attempts to choke her.
At the last second, the mysterious monster attacks Rowan, saving Wednesday. Rowan is killed on the spot, although Principal Weems attempts to convince the school otherwise in a later episode.
8The Nightshade Society
Wednesday Stumbles Upon An Elite Club

Wednesday cracks the Nightshade’s snapping code and stumbles upon one of their gatherings. Much to Bianca’s dismay, Wednesday is offered admittance into the society, but quickly rejects their invitation. Once thought to be disbanded after the death of a normie, the Nightshade Society still operates under the protection of Principal Weems, although their current activities are practically harmless.
7The History Of Jericho And Joseph Crackstone
The Disturbing Backstory Of Outcasts Vs. Normies

Joseph Crackstone, a distant relative of Laurel Gates, aka Christiana Ricci’s character, Marylin Thornhill, is Jericho’s founder. Revered by Jericho’s citizens as a historical hero, Crackstone was, in actuality, responsible for the death of countless outcasts, whom he believed were evil. One of his victims was Goody’s mother, whose death played a large part in spurring Goody to eventually kill Crackstone.
Completely unaware of their false history, the town of Jericho claims to embrace the outcasts. However, Wednesday can see right through them.
An underlying prejudice towards Nevermore and its various species of outcasts remains in the town, even after the credits roll for season 1. While the mystery of Crackstone is solved for now, Wednesday and the outcasts will no doubt learn more about Jericho and its dark secrets in season 2.

6Wednesday’s Ancestor: Goody Addams
Goody Is The Key To Uncovering The Outcast’s History

Goody’s backstory is explored in Wednesday season 1, but a few questions are still left unanswered. She narrowly avoids death alongside her mother at the hands of Joseph Crackstone, who believes that Goody is a witch, and sets out to seek revenge.
Eventually, Goody succeeds, killing Crackstone and sealing his soul inside a coffin, complete with a blood lock. The lock can only be broken under a blood moon, with the blood of one of her descendants.
Goody helps Wednesday in uncovering Jericho’s secrets through visions, but Morticia warns her that, despite Goody’s honorable intentions, she eventually lost her way after succumbing to an unquenchable thirst for revenge. Nevertheless, Goody achieved her goal in the series finale via Wednesday before leaving for good, meaning the writers have most likely retired the character, at least for now.
5Gomez Was Accused And Arrested For Murder
Morticia, Gomez, And Garrett’s Complicated Love Triangle

On the night of the Rave’N dance in 1990, Garrett broke into Nevermore, searching for Morticia. A fight broke out between Garrett, Gomez, and Morticia, ending in Garrett’s demise.
Even though Morticia was the one who ultimately killed Garrett, Gomez took the blame for her. All charges were cleared, but many of Jericho’s citizens still viewed Gomez as a murderer.
Through her visions, Wednesday learns that Garrett was already dying before he was stabbed, due to a vial of nightshade poison that had accidentally broken in his pocket. Thanks to this revelation, Wednesday officially clears her parents of all charges.
4Enid Finally Wolfed Out
Wednesday’s Closest Friend Finally Reaches Her Full Potential

One of the few people to stick by Wednesday’s side throughout season 1’s entirety is Enid Sinclair. Enid is of werewolf descent, and, despite her bubbly exterior, has one major secret: she has not yet “wolfed out.”
The two roommates get off to a rocky start at first, but soon learn to accept each other’s differences and even become great friends. This allowed Wednesday to fully understand Enid’s personality and werewolf struggles.
Classes may have been canceled for the rest of the semester at Nevermore. However, it is clear that Enid’s story is just beginning.
3Tyler Is A Hyde (And Mrs. Thornhill Is His Controller)
The Series’ Biggest Mystery Might Not Be Over Yet

The reveal of Wednesday’s season 1 monster was the series’ biggest plot twist yet. A Hyde is a special type of outcast banned from Nevermore in 1993 for reasons unknown. The majority of season 1 follows Wednesday as she attempts to track down the monster responsible for Jericho’s murders, which leads her straight to her newfound love interest, Tyler Galpin.
Tyler, while under the control of his master, Laurel Gates, helps to resurrect the spirit of Joseph Crackstone. Tyler’s betrayal has no doubt left a lasting impact on Wednesday, given that he is most likely the first boy she has ever fallen for, much less kissed. At the end of the season finale, Tyler is seen heading to the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, still in possession of his Hyde abilities.
2Thornhill Kills Principal Weems
Principal Weems Turned Out To Be Wednesday’s Greatest Ally

Weems initially harbored some contempt for Wednesday, due to an old grudge that she holds against Morticia. However, she later aids Wednesday in exposing the Hyde and his master’s identity.
After Wednesday convinces Weems that Thornhill is part of the Crackstone conspiracy, she uses her shapeshifting powers to turn into Tyler, allowing her to overhear Thornhill’s plan. However, after she reveals her true identity and attempts to apprehend Thornhill, she is stabbed by a needle full of nightshade poison, killing her.
Weems seems to be out of the picture for season 2. That said, her return shouldn’t be completely ruled out just yet.
1Wednesday Has A Stalker
The Season 1 Cliffhanger Is The Perfect Segue Into Season 2

In the last scene of season 1, Wednesday receives a brand new cellphone. Shortly after, on her ride home, a text message from an unknown number pops up. It reads, “I’m watching you,” with an emoji and a few photos attached. The pictures were clearly captured without Wednesday’s knowledge, as they show her with Tyler and Xavier on two different occasions from a short distance away.
