This NFL star and Swift “can’t listen” to the “outside noise” at a news conference, he added.
Travis Kelce has said that he and Taylor Swift are ignoring the “outside noise” as they deal with the scrutiny of their relationship.
In response to queries over his growing reputation, 34-year-old Kelce said that he and 34-year-old Swift had addressed the spotlight on their relationship during Friday’s Chiefs news conference.
Kelce, when questioned by a reporter if the subject had come up with Swift, said that he and the “Karma” singer “talked about” addressing privacy. “As long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise,” stated Kelce. “Thats all that matters.”
For Kelce, it would “be silly” to ignore the heightened scrutiny he has received in the last year. When asked about the impact of the Super Bowl and his off-field lifestyle, he made reference to the notorious “Kelce Bowl” in 2023, in which his Chiefs defeated Jason Kelce’s Philadelphia Eagles.
In the wake of the first-ever Super Bowl brother-on-brother game, Kelce’s mother, Donna, became a revered figure among NFL fans, and he landed a hosting role on Saturday Night Live.
And because to his romance with the 12-time Grammy winner, Kelce and his family have gained a new and substantial audience of Swifties.
After bringing this on myself, I’m enjoying myself, and the most important thing is to keep my attention on this building, Kelce told reporters during a news conference on Friday.
Kelce went on to mention the “outside noise” from fans and the media, and how difficult it is to “deal with everyone else’s perspective of things” when he receives criticism for being in a public relationship during an NFL season.
Any time we aren’t winning, the media will say things like, “Maybe I wasn’t focused” or “Maybe the team isn’t focused on certain things,” but if you’re in this building, you know exactly what’s going on, as Kelce put it.
Therefore, you need to separate your thoughts from what you’re hearing, maintain focus, and present the correct image to everyone in the building and on that team.
Ever since Swift went to her first Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium in September of last year, rumors have circulated that she is dating Kelce. Along with the NFL star’s mother Donna, she has been a consistent cheerleader for the player all season long.
The Chiefs and Kelce will face off in Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the Ravens of Baltimore in an effort to secure a position in Super Bowl LVIII, set to be held in Las Vegas on February 11th.
