“Queen of Country” isn’t Reba McEntire’s only title. The “Fancy” singer has also found success on the silver screen, starring in her own sitcom Reba and serving as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. Now, Reba is gearing up for her return to scripted television with her new sitcom, Happy’s Place. And the GRAMMY winner has hinted that fans may see some familiar faces when Happy’s Place premieres Oct. 18.
Reba McEntire Hints At Potential ‘The Voice’ Crossover
Season 26 of The Voice premieres Sept. 23, and Reba McEntire is coming back to defend her title. A little over a month later, Happy’s Place makes its debut right there on the same network. Juggling filming for two shows at the same time sounds daunting. Fortunately, it’s a short trip.
“You just have to walk across the alley,” said Melissa Peterman, who plays her best friend and bartender Gabby on Happy’s Place. “The two stages are next to each other.”
Might the proximity of the two sets lend itself to a Voice crossover? “In a skinny minute, yes!” Reba told TV Insider. “Snoop wants to be on the show. Michael Bublé wants to be on the show. Gwen [Stefani] will just come visit, she didn’t say she wanted to be on the show.”
Peterman, the singer’s former Reba co-star, has the perfect role in mind for the No Doubt frontwoman. “Maybe Gwen could play my sister!” she suggested. “I said that because I want everyone to think that we look a lot alike. She’s just awesome.”
Adam Levine Shares First Look at ‘The Voice’
Fortunately for Reba McEntire fans, the country legend will stick around The Voice for another season to defend her title. Fellow returnee Gwen Stefani will join her when season 26 premieres Sept. 23, along with newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.
However, some viewers are already looking ahead to season 27, which premieres in the spring of 2025. That’s when fan favorite Adam Levine makes his hotly anticipated return to the big red chair. Filming has already begun, and the Maroon 5 frontman shared a photo to Instagram from the set.
Bublé and John Legend will join Levine as returnees, along with first-time coach Kelsea Ballerini.
