Going by the name Sundance Head, the country singer, like many before him, started his journey into the music industry on American Idol. Hoping the show would catapult him into the spotlight, he ended his run as a semi-finalist. Not quitting, Head jumped over to season 11 of The Voice, where he was part of Blake Shelton’s team. Unlike on American Idol, Head won The Voice. Releasing his last album, Starting Again, in 2022, the country singer recently shared news with fans that had nothing to do with his career and more about his wife, Misty, and her ongoing struggles with cancer.
While keeping fans updated on his career in country music, Head took a moment to share a different part of his life. Posting a picture of his wife with a scar on his face, the singer explained, “Misty had been told that she had cancer on her face and needed to be removed before it became and issue. She immediately scheduled the procedure and had the surgery done. She is healing now and we have been told they believe it was all removed.” He added, “She will be going back for a follow up soon to double check and make sure there is no more anywhere else in her body. She is tough and fearless.“
Sundance Head Tells Fans To Get Checked
Thankfully, Misty sought medical attention and was able to get the necessary treatment. For Head, he continued his post with praise for Misty. “I will never understand the true strength of a woman. Even facing an uncertain outcome she continued to provide and nurture our family. I would have folded like a lawn chair. I’ve always said her beauty is her resilience. Such grace and resolve cannot be measured.”
Having been on the front lines, Head also used the moment to make sure his fans kept their health at the forefront. Not wanting others to put their health off, he insisted, “Folks if you have something on your body and thinking may need to be checked out DO IT.”
Fans rallied around Head and his wife, writing, “Praying for Misty and know she is a strong Texas woman! So glad she is healing and positive results!”
