One of the original coaches on The Voice is making a return to the show.
Adam Levine will take a spot in the red swivel chair for the NBC talent competition’s 27th season in spring 2025. The Maroon 5 frontman departed The Voice in 2019 after serving as a coach for the show’s first 16 seasons.
Levine will be joined by country star Kelsea Ballerini, who will make her full-time coaching debut; John Legend, who will take his 10th turn in the red chairs; and Michael Bublé, who is joining the show in the fall.
When Levine left The Voice, he said that “it was time to move on” but said his time on the series was “a life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.” He later told Howard Stern that “I was ready to not be doing it anymore for a little bit. … For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. This is the right time for me to go.”
Ballerini has appeared on The Voice before, as an adviser to Kelly Clarkson in season 16 and as a fill-in coach when Clarkson was absent for a few episodes. She is a four-time Grammy nominee and multiple CMA and ACM award winner.
Legend will take the fall 2024 Voice season off after serving as a coach for each of the last two editinos of the show (he also coached singers in seasons 16-22). Bublé will make his first appearance as a coach in the upcoming fall run alongside fellow newcomer Snoop Dogg and returnees Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.
The Voice is produced by MGM Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. Creator John de Mol executive produces with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
