It was confirmed Friday that the concert had been rescheduled for Friday, August 30, at 8 p.m.
“This show is probably the greatest show I have ever put on,” HaVon said on a Facebook reel. “I really want to make sure everybody who wants the chance to attend has that opportunity.”
“There were quite a number of people who were asking Asher to move the concert back because this was the first week of school,” Reddick said. “Asher talked with the recording companies, and August 30 was the first available date we could reschedule the concert.”
Reddick said the concert, which is called “Asher HaVon’s Back to School Scholarships and Performance,” will also be giving out 11 scholarships to students from all eight Selma City Schools, but HaVon will also award scholarships to students at the three Dallas County High School.
The selected students will receive their scholarships on Friday, August 30, 2024, during the concert.
“I’m coming back to put money in the hands of the kids,” HaVon said.
“There is a chance that more VIP tickets will be announced for the next concert,” Reddick said. “All tickets that have been previously purchased will be honored on August 30.”
Those who would like to attend the concert can purchase tickets on EventBrite by searching for Asher’s name.
