“The Voice USA” champ Sofronio Vasquez is back home in the Philippines, and he had a grand homecoming segment on “It’s Showtime.”
On Monday’s episode of the noontime show, Sofronio opened the program with song numbers, where he was joined by “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” alums and hurados, including Nyoy Volante, Darren Espanto, and Yeng Constantino, among others.
For his finale song, he offered an emotional performance of “A Million Dreams,” a song that he performed during the finals of the “The Voice USA,” and which ultimately led to his victory.
“Nag-reminisce lang ako, every time na nag-a-audition ako sa mga competitions, ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ ‘yung unang pumansin sa’kin,” he said, teary eyed.
Vice Ganda then called Sofronio the pride of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”
Sofronio also thanked his “The Voice USA” coach Michael Buble.
“Gusto ko lang din po magpasalamat, I know he’s watching, coach Michael Buble, thank you for being a Filipino,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sofronio, who made history as the first Filipino and Asian to win “The Voice USA,” is set to hold his first solo concert in Cebu on January 18.
We are so proud of you, Sofronio!
