Hollywood star Nicole Kidman made a bold revelation about filming her upcoming erotic thriller Babygirl.
Throughout her extensive career in Hollywood, Nicole Kidman has portrayed a range of characters, from showing off her comedic and dramatic talents in To Die For to her powerful, emotional performance in The Hours, and her daring, provocative side in films like Eyes Wide Shut and The Paperboy.
However, the actress has revealed that the role that got the best of her has been that of Romy, a businesswoman, in the upcoming erotic thriller Babygirl. Kidman recently shared that filming the movie, particularly the more intimate scenes, was at times overwhelming and difficult to manage.
Nicole Kidman Opened Up About the Challenges of Filming Babygirl
Nicole Kidman is set to return to the silver screen in the upcoming erotic thriller Babygirl. The film follows her in the role of a powerful businesswoman, who puts her family and career at risk when she gets involved in a passionate affair with a much younger intern.
The film, which is set to release this Christmas, features her alongside Harris Dickinson and Antonio Banderas as the young intern and Romy’s husband, respectively. And she had to perform several intimate scenes with her co-stars in these roles.
“There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration,” she said, talking about filming the intimate scenes. The actress shared that things occasionally became so intense that it was challenging for her to keep going.
It’s like,‘Don’t touch me — There were times when we were shooting where I was like,‘I don’t want to orga*m any more… Don’t come near me. I hate doing this.

“I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life!” she further said as per The Sun before adding, “I’m over it. It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout.”
The bold revelation from Kidman is surprising, her past performances in films like Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, where she tackled similarly intense scenes.

Talking about the film, Dickinson shared that he was “pinching” himself, as he reflected on working with Kidman. He further shared with Variety at the film’s screening,
Subtly, I kept asking her things like, ‘What was it like working with Stanley Kubrick?’ I was there always like poking at the fact that she is this monolithic figure in cinema.
During his conversation, he also reflected on filming the intimate scenes for the film, saying, “We’d have a discussion with the intimacy coordinator, and then Nicole and I kind of did our own thing with it once we set the parameters of what we were both comfortable with.”

He also shared that the intimacy coordinators also helped facilitate the discussion by asking about their comfort levels and the director’s vision, ensuring everything was handled delicately without disrupting the flow of the scene.
