Some Oklahomans were less than thrilled to see their fellow Okie Reba McEntire holding up the symbol for Texas Longhorns after Oklahoma’s brutal loss to Texas on Saturday.

McEntire, who was born in McAlester and raised on an 8,000-acre cattle ranch in Chockie, posted a photo of herself and her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, sporting Texas gear and their fingers up in the “hook ’em horns” sign in support of the Longhorns.

In the photos, McEntire and Linn are kneeling next to a bronze sculpture of the couple’s beloved dog that died in 2022. The caption reads “Hook ’em horns! Thank you Bruce Green for the beautiful bronze sculpture of our Riddler.”

Here’s how commenters reacted.

Social media reacts to Reba’s ‘hook ’em horns’ post

On Facebook, Deneen Kirsch Gambrell Hendricks commented: “Bless her Oklahoma Heart. Did she forget where she was born, raised, and learned to sing?” Debbie Lemons commented: “Boomer…rain or shine.”

Meanwhile, some Texas fans were happy to see horns up instead of down for once from an Oklahoman.

On Facebook Pat Campbell commented: “I just love seeing an Okie throwing up the Horns…especially today!! Hook ‘em!!” Eric W. Gage commented: “Thank you for finally being on the right side of the field! It’s only taking you a lifetime!”
