The Prime Effect is real! And even the NFL isn’t exempted from experiencing the effect as more scouts scour the Colorado Buffs training grounds. It’s the second day in a row that this college football program has seen representatives from the pro league coming in to check on what they can expect from the players. If it’s not the Prime Effect, then what could it be?
Every achievement that the Buffs have scored since the arrival of Deion Sanders is attributed to the Prime Effect. From breaking viewer and student application records to driving the majority’s opinions on their winning odds in the Big 12, the effect is in full swing. As the Buffs got on with their fall camp practice, there were new NFL faces on the ground.
With the Buffs in the thick of practice on day 4 of their fall training camp, two more NFC scouts are filmed at the scene. This is another instance of Deion Sanders’ Prime Effect in motion as is seen from what Deion Sanders Jr. captured in the latest YouTube episode of Well Off Media on August 2. And this time it’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions who presented themselves to see what they can get out of the Buffs.

This isn’t the first of its kind because scouts have been present even the previous day. Day 3 of Colorado fall camp saw scouts from two NFC teams checking out the Buffs’ performance. It seems like the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears paved the way for more NFL scouts to go on an early hunting spree. With Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders projected as top 10 picks, these teams are trying to leave their imprints early on.
How will Colorado fare this season?
The Buffs star QB Shedeur and two-way star Travis Hunter are both potential darkhorse Heisman Trophy contenders. As per ESPN’s Matt Miller’s early NFL predictions, they’re expected to snatch the No. 2 and No. 9 spots, respectively. Could this be possible with the problem they faced last season that earned them a record of only 4-8?
Taking last season’s mistakes into account, Deion Sanders has revamped the entire roster for the 2024 season. He added 42 transfer players and signed 13 high school players. But is the roster overhaul enough to make a difference? Colorado will get a chance to prove itself in the Big 12 with their kickoff game against North Dakota State on August 29 followed by a matchup against Nebraska on September 7.
