Outer Banks is a big hit on Netflix!
Season 4 Part 1 premiered on the streamer in October of 2024, and Part 2 will be released on November 7. Of course, viewers are curious if the show will extend beyond its current fourth season.
As of right now, Netflix has not officially renewed the series for Season 5.
As for the show’s performance in Season 4, the launch numbers are “quite good” according to What’s On Netflix, with a reported 15.5 million CVEs (Complete Viewings Equivalents) for the first part of Season 4, which is similar to the numbers from the previous two seasons.
As far as timing of a potential announcement for Season 5: Season 2 wasn’t confirmed until nearly three months after the release of Season 1, while Season 3′s confirmation came nearly six months after the release of Season 2. Season 4 was confirmed right before the Season 3 premiere aired.
Chase Stokes and Rudy Rankow were asked if Season 4 would be the last in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, to which Chase replied: “I think our biggest thing has always been wanting to end the show on a high note. And it’s not about how the plane takes off, it’s how you land it. I just want to make sure we do it justice and I want to make sure that when we do end, whenever that time comes that we end the show the right way.”
Rudy added: “I think there’s still messages to be told but at the same time, it comes down to the writers if they have a good base on how to tell those messages and I think they still do.”
Stay tuned as we wait to hear whether the show gets an official renewal!
