Video Game adaptations are rising up in popularity again and WB decided to jump on the opportunity and make ‘A Minecraft Movie’ based on the popular game released back in 2011.
The first trailer was recently released, and the feedback was not ideal, it certainly wasn’t something that WB expected, despite having a stellar cast.
The cast includes Jack Black as Steve, Jason Momoa as Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, Emma Myers as Natalie, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen as Henry. Additionally, Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, and Matt Berry have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Speaking of Jason Momoa, it seems that the filming of the movie has affected him greatly, according to popular YouTuber Valkyrae, who also apparently appears in the movie, she saw Momoa mistreating the cast and crew, yelling at them after the scene did not play out in a satisfactory way:
“I saw him mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing, it was after a very intense scene so maybe he was still in character… He was just really mad at them that they weren’t doing something right, like setting up the shot, he was just really angry & yelling. I was like, this is not a good work environment, I would not be happy working under those conditions.”

This is not the first time that rumors have come forward that Momoa can be abusive on the set. When ‘Aquaman and the Last Kingdom’ was filming, controversial actress Amber Heard who returned to reprise her role as Mera accused Momoa of trying to get her fired. Heard also reported in her notes that Momoa was drunk on set and dressed like Johnny Depp, her former spouse, including wearing all the rings. The allegations were naturally denied.
The allegations related to ‘A Minecraft Movie’ were not addressed yet. ‘A Minecraft Movie’ is set to be released in the United States on April 4, 2025. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
