With Fatalities on the Rise, How to be Safe from the Monster Storm

After Hurricane Helene took out power from 97000 homes and businesses in Georgia and North Carolina and killed at least 200 people as a result of destruction (via NBC News), Hurricane Milton appeared to cause carnage to the already decimated areas. Making landfall in Siesta Key, Florida, at about 8:30 pm EST on Wednesday, BBC reported that Milton had the center of the storm at Orlando.

Although Hurricane Milton has weakened slightly since making landfall, the monster storm is expected to retain its intensity the entire time it travels across Florida. With multiple fatalities on the rise, forecasters are currently warning about torrential rain, high winds, and possible storm surges with rise in flood levels to the scary height of 10-15ft, drowning almost everything in its way.
