Black Myth: Wukong failed to even get a nomination in the Console Game of the Year category, which proves the western bias against games.
The nominations for the 42nd Annual Golden Joystick Awards are out. The nominations seem to have taken a sad turn; one of the most celebrated games of this year fails to establish a place amongst the other Console Game of the Year titles.

Black Myth: Wukong did not get the nominations it deserves, which is a direct indication of how Western developers are scared of an Asian game leaving a mark on the world of gaming by getting more attention than some of the other titles out there.
Western Developers Are Scared of Games Like Black Myth: Wukong
The 42nd Annual Golden Joystick Awards are criticized for not including Black Myth: Wukong for the Console Game of the Year title, which the game truly deserves. This discrimination sparked criticism amongst fans against the widely celebrated award show.
The award show is being criticized for catering to the Western audience and developers, excluding people from the rest of the world, and establishing their supremacy over all the other games made outside Western influence. This attitude has been agitating the fans for a while now, and Black Myth: Wukong’s exclusions seem to have acted like the last nail in the coffin.
Fans of the game are openly criticizing the Golden Joystick Awards. Many people think that the reason Black Myth: Wukong was excluded from the nominations was largely because it was the first AAA title by the developer, Game Science.
Seeing how people have lost all hope from these big award shows is saddening. If the same way of working persists in the future, it will take away the credibility of these award shows.
Game Awards Should Be More Inclusive

Black Myth: Wukong only got one nomination in the best visual design category. The award shows are not even hiding their bias against non-Western games anymore. These games are openly being discriminated against based on the sector of people it is focused on.
Game Awards have started to lose their relevance and importance as a credible source of celebrating a game. Black Myth: Wukong is the biggest example of it. The sale number of the game will indicate how well the game is currently performing in the market.
The general public has already crowned Black Myth: Wukong as their Game of the Year. They do not care whether it gets the top spot in any Game Award show whatsoever. Those who have had the chance to explore the game to the fullest know that the game deserves more than it is currently getting. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
