GameStop tried to troll a gamer for buying the physical version of Concord but it turns out he got the game from a GameStop store.

Sony’s Concord will go down as one of the biggest failures in the history of the gaming industry, plus, the game may have proven that Sony still hasn’t figured out the art of creating a hero shooter. Just two weeks after the launch, Sony pulled the plug and initiated refunds for players who bought the game.

Unfortunately, people who bought the physical version may struggle to refund the game, depending on the refund policy of the particular retailer from which they got the game. Recently, GameStop decided to troll a gamer on social media for buying the physical version of the game, but it turns out, the gamer purchased the game from GameStop, so the company will have to refund the game.

Recently, a gamer shared that he purchased the physical version of Firewalk Studios‘ Concord. After PlayStation announced that they decided to shut down the game, GameStop trolled the gamer. In response, the gamer claimed that he bought the game from GameStop.
YOU WERE THE ONES THAT SOLD IT TO ME

As per GameStop’s policy, in-store purchased items can be returned in-store within 15 days of purchase. The announcement of Concord‘s shutdown came exactly 12 days after the release of the game, so thankfully, the gamer can still get a refund.

Sony released a statement on PlayStation.Blog announcing the end of Concord as players’ response to the game has been underwhelming. Sony created a lot of hype for the game but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The statement said,
While many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended. Therefore, at this time, we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024, and explore options, including those that will better reach our players.
So, the game is shutting down for now but Sony has claimed that they will “explore options,” so maybe in the future they will improve the game and re-release it. Right now, it is clear that Sony isn’t ready for this genre.
Concord was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows on August 23, 2024, and the number of active players on the day of release was embarrassingly low. Sony probably made the right decision to take down the game as there’s room for improvement.
As for players who have purchased the digital version from the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, Steam, or Epic Games Store, a full refund will be initiated soon.
