Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch hasn’t made a physical appearance in Agatha All Along, but the aftermath of her takeover of Westview in WandaVision and the impact of her spell over Agatha Harkness being broken has been felt throughout the series. Agatha Harkness and the residents of Westview consider Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch to be an outright villain. However, Agatha All Along episode 6, “Familiar By Thy Side,” confirmed that not everybody feels this way, which confuses one plot point from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Agatha All Along Confirmed WandaVision’s Events Are Not Public Knowledge
Agatha All Along Episode 6, “Familiar By Thy Side,” Saw Billy Maximoff Invesigate The Westview Anomaly

Agatha All Along episode 6 explored Billy Maximoff’s new backstory in the MCU, as it was revealed that his soul sought out the empty body of William Kaplan after the Hex around Westview was dismantled by the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision’s finale. Billy Maximoff lived as William Kaplan for three years while investigating witchcraft and the Westview Anomaly, which would eventually lead him to Agatha Harkness and the Witches’ Road. This was inspired by him spotting runes on the Hex in video footage, which he showed to his boyfriend, Miles Gutierrez-Riley’s Eddie.

What’s interesting is that Eddie expressed surprise about the Westview Anomaly having any significance to witches, as the public had apparently been told that this was simply an Avengers training exercise gone wrong. The fact that the details of WandaVision’s events have not been made public suggests that the Scarlet Witch is not seen as a villain by everybody, and may still be celebrated as a powerful superhero by most of the world. This becomes complicated when considering the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange 2’s Scarlet Witch Shun Doesn’t Make Sense After Agatha All Along
Doctor Strange Suggested Wanda Maximoff Was Off The Lunch-Box

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Master of the Mystic Arts finds Wanda Maximoff in the hopes that she’ll provide a safe refuge for America Chavez, though it’s soon revealed that it’s actually the Scarlet Witch who is hunting the multiversal traveler. Before this reveal, Doctor Strange suggests that doing something heroic would get Wanda “back on the lunch-box” following the events of WandaVision, but this no longer makes sense. WandaVision’s traumatic events are not public knowledge, so Wanda wouldn’t have been taken off the lunch-box.
With an intimate knowledge of magical occurrences around the world, it’s not surprising that Doctor Strange himself would have surmised what happened inside the Westview Anomaly. However, the Everyman of the MCU surely wouldn’t have worked out that the Scarlet Witch held the entire town hostage. Doctor Strange may have been suggesting Wanda was taken off the lunch-box after the events of Captain America: Civil War, but it seems her sacrifice and heroism in Infinity War and Endgame would have made up for that, so this line doesn’t make much sense anymore.
Many People In The MCU Do Hate The Scarlet Witch
Wanda Maximoff Has Put Many In Danger In The MCU

While most residents of the MCU would still see Wanda Maximoff as a bona fide superhero, albeit one with unpredictable and sometimes-volatile powers, there are still many who know the truth about the Scarlet Witch. Most notably, the residents of Westview, New Jersey, including those who moved away from the town after WandaVision, would know exactly what the Scarlet Witch is capable of, though it seems they haven’t spread this knowledge. This may be under threat of penalty, as Evan Peters’ Ralph Bohner seemed very paranoid in Agatha All Along episode 6.
Agatha All Along episode 2, “Circle Sewn with Fate/Unlock Thy Hidden Gate,” revealed that some Westview residents had painted graffiti the foundations of Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s former house, naming Wanda an “Evil Witch” and drawing a line through an image of the Scarlet Witch’s crown.
Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch has caused problems for many other individuals in the MCU, too. Aside from the residents of Westview, those witness to her accidental destruction of a building in Lagos in Captain America: Civil War, the Masters of the Mystic Arts who survived her attack on Kamar-Taj in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and most people on Earth-838, especially those close to the Illuminati, would hate the Scarlet Witch. Wanda Maximoff has had a huge impact on the MCU, and this continues in Agatha All Along, despite the true extent of her actions not being known.
