It seems that Matt Reeves may have a race-swapped Robin in mind for the upcoming film The Batman Part II, following the success of The Penguin!

The world is changing. Galadriel felt it in the Earth. She felt it in the water. She felt it when The Penguin was going to be released. She even used the Mirror of Galadriel to look at the future and saw… a race-swapped Robin in The Batman II?

All jokes aside, the theory is connected to Colin Farrell’s The Penguin and the latest DCU breakout star Rhenzy Feliz. His comments about the character of Victor Aguilar could pave the way for a racially swapped Robin in the upcoming Matt Reeves film!
Is Matt Reeves’ Robin in The Penguin?
Back in 2022, director Matt Reeves and actor Robert Pattinson decided to drop one of the hardest Batman movies ever created. The Batman was the result and millions of fans loved it to their very core.

Well, a sequel was soon announced and fans couldn’t have been happier. Meanwhile, they were greeted with The Penguin, a spin-off of Colin Farrell’s character from the iconic 2022 film.
In the iconic show, Rhenzy Feliz portrays the role of Vic Aguilar, a companion to Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb. However, it seems that there’s more to him than what meets the eye since fans claim that he will go on to become Robin in the future.
In a recent interview (via ScreenRant), Feliz talked about the various theories that fans had for him. However, his comments left people even more confused than before.
Well, I think it is fun that the people [are] having fun with it a bit. We saw this comic book cover almost that was sort of reminiscent or very close to an old time cover with Batman and Robin.
He further continued,
So that was kind of fun just in general getting to see what people are saying. But [for] now, I’ll keep my theories close to the chest about anything I’m thinking. But it’s fun to see.
If the theories are correct, this could potentially mean that the world would get a racially-swapped Robin in the upcoming Matt Reeves film! Although the news cannot be confirmed, it seems that the Reevesverse has secrets of its own.
They have done it before and received great feedback on their decision. The positive reviews for a race-swapped character in The Batman could mean that Robin could just be a person of color.
Matt Reeves Has Done It Before
In the original American Comics, the character of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman has always been portrayed as an American White. But in 2022, Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson changed that.

In the iconic film, Zoë Kravitz portrayed the role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. It was one of the few times that Catwoman was portrayed by a person of color.
Fans loved her portrayal in the film as Zoë Kravitz was stunning, elegant, graceful, and just seductive enough for Robert Pattinson’s Batman in the film. Naturally, Matt Reeves might want to take it up a notch by introducing a race-swapped Robin in his upcoming project.
Although this theory is quite interesting, nothing can be confirmed or denied at this point. These are just rumors that the Mirror of Galadriel showed her. The Batman Part II is currently slated for a release date of 2 October 2026 in theaters across the U.S.
