Worrying fans across the world, Disney is on the verge of messing up Star Wars: Skeleton Crew by following She-Hulk’s disastrous trend.

Fans have long been dissatisfied with Disney’s approach toward the runtime of some of their most successful shows’ episodes. One major reason behind it is that most other production companies tend to follow a far longer runtime on average and this lets them elaborate on the storytelling, so the plot doesn’t feel rushed.

Disney, however, seems to be of a different mind when it comes to some of their all-star franchises. For example, the Marvel shows have sort of been a hit-and-miss for the past few years, and one of the reasons has been the runtime for that, like in the case of She-Hulk. However, fans seem especially incensed this time around, as they seem to be implementing that same diabolical trend to the currently airing Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

Disney is on the verge of messing up Star Wars: Skeleton Crew with a runtime mishap

Inspired by Lucasfilms’ 90s Monkey Island games, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew tells the story of a bunch of kids, who, after finding themselves adrift in the Star Wars galaxy, deal with new challenges and adventures while trying to find a way back home.

The Jude Law featuring show has been the talk of the town because of its potential to explore new horizons and bring in even more fans with its fresh perspective and premise. However, what seems to have put a damper on the fans’ excitement, is Disney’s bizarre attitude towards its runtime.

As the runtime for the first three episodes was released, fans noticed that the second episode would only be 29 minutes. Now, with a number of Star Wars shows on their roster that are already fighting for a spot to see the light of day, this particular problem seems to be something that just might put the fans off in a major way.

Especially when Disney’s track record with launching new shows with minuscule runtimes is threatening to become quite a harmful trend, and the beloved MCU franchise has already suffered quite a few misses due to it. As a result, the thought of the same happening to possibly one of the most legendary franchises in the world, across all media, has been quite anxiety-inducing for the fans.

Disney Keeps Following She-Hulk’s Disastrous Trend

As mentioned before, Disney’s bizarre, and disproportionate runtime pattern is not exactly a new thing. Previously, major shows that fans have been excited about, like WandaVision, and She-Hulk’s episodes also had very short runtimes of about 30 minutes or so. However, whereas WandaVision hit the top of the charts, She-Hulk went straight opposite of it.

According to fans, the major difference between these two was the fact that in the case of WandaVision, the show had already strongly established characters in the universe that fans have had years to build a relationship with and grow attached to. However, with Tatiana Maslany‘s She-Hulk, as the characters were fairly new to the screen, they did not have the same bond with the audience.

As a result, the short runtime ended up hurting the process of growing to care about a character, and the plot itself suffered, as there weren’t as many details provided for the same. What this resulted in, was disinterested viewers who did not have the patience to sit through a show that was bound to leave them with more confusion than it could ever possibly answer. Inevitably, it turned into a disaster that left a bad taste in people’s mouths.

Now, it is still too soon to say whether Star Wars: Skeleton Crew might just suffer the same fate or not. However, the short runtime for the second episode has definitely managed to put some fans on edge all the same. Unfortunately, it seems like fans will just have to wait and see as the show progresses, although, with the first episode now out, that wait might not be too long.
