One of the most jaw-dropping reveals in the latest season of Virgin River could have a simple yet infuriating explanation.

Virgin River fans ‘annoyed’ by convincing explanation for Mike’s proposal

Virgin River fans are already predicting what’s going to go down in the next rollercoaster season of the small town drama – and one theory has them rattled.

In season six of the hit Netflix series, Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) finally tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony, but there were bombshells going off all around them.

This time, all attention was once again on Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Brie Sheridan’s (Zibby Allen) entanglements, which kicked off when Brady discovered his new girlfriend Lark (Elise Gatien) was running a scam on him.

He later has a secret liaison with Brie, but Lark initially promises to abandon her schemes when she develops true feelings for Brady. However, she quickly goes back on her vow when she overhears him confessing his love for Brie at the wedding and runs off with his savings.

Later, Brie’s new beau Mike (Marco Grazzini) shocked everyone by getting down on one knee to propose despite the fact that, even more shockingly, he apparently knows his girlfriend recently slept with her ex.

Millions of fans have now been left on the edge of their seats for the next season to reveal Brie’s answer and how Mike knows. But, one fan has an infuriatingly simple explanation.

“I have a hunch about Mike’s proposal and why he said he knew about Brie and Brady….” they began in a recent Reddit post.

“I know nobody’s gonna agree and I’m probably wrong, but VR is known for hyping something up for a cliffhanger only to kinda disappoint us when the next season comes out.”

With that in mind, the viewer predicted: “I think it’s gonna be a twist where he says ‘I know, I know you slept with Brady before we got together. I don’t hold that against you, him and I are on better terms now’. Idk some stupid bologna like that.”

Could Mike simply be referring to Brie and Brady’s relationship before she got together with him? Some fans are already convinced this prediction will turn out to be true – but they’re not happy with the potential outcome.

“Oh my god. I could totally see this, it’s not even real yet and I’m already annoyed by it lol. Good theory,” someone said in the comments.

Brie faces a tough decision next season

Another fan replied: “I thought/think that too!! But then I go back to how he knew her parents were sleeping together before he actually caught them so I’m like ehhh we’ll see!”

And a third commented: “No waaaaaayyy. I am sure they will do this now.

“Whatever, as long as they break up and she gets with Brady but I’m also sure they will drag this engagement for a long a** time, only to leave Mike at the altar or sth.”

Although other Virgin River fans were less convinced, with one user arguing: “They’ve been seeding him knowing for a few episodes though, especially when he called out her parents before they got caught.

“I think it will be an ‘I know but give me a chance, I won’t disappoint you like Brady blah blah blah’ and then she chooses to be alone and ‘find herself’.”

Is Mike simply trying to be chivalrous about his girlfriend’s past relationship? Or is he really trying to tie Brie down after finding out about recent infidelity?

Unfortunately, there’s still a lengthy wait before season seven spills those much-needed answers.
