BBC Breakfast viewers sank their claws into Sally Nugent’s treatment of a guest and fumed, ‘the disdain in her voice is palpable’.
The TV host, 53, interviewed Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson on Tuesday’s instalment of the BBC programme.
However, some viewers felt Sally was particularly ‘negative’ towards Bridget who was discussing the two child benefit cap and breakfast clubs.
It comes as the rollout of free breakfast clubs began today, designed to give parents of primary school children 30 minutes of free childcare a day, or up to 95 hours a year.
During the conversation, Sally asked: ‘What about though, if you scrapped the two child benefit cap, because if you did that, a charity has suggested to us it would lift 350,000 children out of poverty overnight.
‘Surely that would do more than 30 minutes in a breakfast club?’

Bridget responded, ‘We are considering all of those questions to around the social security system and around child poverty and I co-chair the child poverty task force with the work and pension secretary we got up and running very rapidly after the election.’
She went on to discuss the work done ‘to understand what more we need to do to drive down costs for parents and families and increase incomes’ as well as issues surrounding childcare.
Many took to social media to share their views on Sally’s manner during the interview and penned: ‘Sally Nugent’s interview style is so f****** negative and repetitive. Just so tedious. I’ve switched over… again.’
‘Wow Sally’s got it on her this morning – the disdain in her voice to Bridget Phillipson is palpable.’
‘What a ridiculous interview by Sally Nugent with Bridget Phillipson. #BBCBreakfast.’
‘Sally Negative Nugent at it again I see #BBCBreakfast.’
‘Sally Nugent tries to be @bbclaurak when speaking to labour politicians, she’s ridiculous.’
It comes after BBC Breakfast viewers jeered ‘she’s not impressed’ as Naga Munchetty stared down a ‘mansplaining’ Charlie Stayt before an ‘awkward’ interview last week.

The two news anchors hosted Friday’s instalment of the daily show on BBC One and fans watching seemed to notice some tension.
On Thursday, Naga was photographed keeping her distance from her BBC Breakfast co-star Charlie and show editor as she left the studios in Manchester amid a rumoured feud and bulling row.
And during the recent instalment, some viewers noticed Naga appeared unimpressed.
BBC Breakfast airs every morning from 6am on BBC One and is available to stream on iPlayer.
