The procession started at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain and went to a church near Stanley Street, the family said.
Torres-Garcia’s remains were discovered earlier this month at an abandoned property on Clark Street in New Britain. Police believe she was killed sometime last fall.
Since Torres-Garcia was found, her mother, her mother’s boyfriend and her aunt have been arrested and charged in connection to her death.
The charges for the mother, Karla Garcia, and her boyfriend Jonatan Nanita include murder and conspiracy to commit murder, according to police. The aunt, Jackelyn Garcia, has been charged with cruelty to persons as well as additional charges.
Nanita is also being charged with tampering with evidence, according to police.
All three are due to appear in court on Nov. 14.
