On November 4, Leanne Morgan takes the stage yet again in her newest standup special, hitting Netflix. Leanne Morgan: Unspeakable Things comes in the wake of her sitcom success, as Leanne, which hit the streamer in July, was an immediate hit. Now, in Unspeakable Things, Leanne brings her typical southern charm as she hilariously tackles topics like parenthood, trying CBD and of course, her marriage to the lovely Chuck Morgan. Though Chuck is something of an elusive figure, he’s often referenced in her standup routines, and fans of Leanne and her comedy have gotten to know him and his temperament through the countless tales she’s told about him. Leanne first met the man who would steal her heart while she was studying at the University of Tennessee, and since those early days of falling for one another, they’ve built a life they’re truly proud of. Leanne Morgan met her husband while working as a waitress

In an interview with her daughter, Maggie, Morgan revealed that prior to meeting Chuck, she had married at a young age, later divorcing. Looking to come out on the other side of the “painful” experience, she wanted to begin a new chapter in her life. At 23, she went back to school while working as a waitress. Chuck, who was also studying for his MBA at the time, got a job working at the same establishment she did. Though the introverted Chuck didn’t exactly make a great first impression, what she didn’t realize was that he was hopelessly falling for her and didn’t quite have the nerve to tell her his true feelings. Soon enough, he figured out the way to her heart—babies. As Leanne remembers it, “There would be a baby—a family would be sitting there and a baby would be crying—they would say they couldn’t eat. Your daddy would go get that baby, wait tables while he was holding a baby, bring that baby to me—knowing that my uterus ached and I wanted a family—and that’s how he got me.” Once he broke the ice, Chuck found his confidence and began wooing his eventual wife.

Leanne Morgan and her husband built a family together

Chuck made his living in the mobile home business and Leanne has always celebrated her husband for providing for her and her three children over the years—even when his frugality might have gotten under her skin. “He has no qualms with driving an old, old car—he does not care what other people think,” Leanne shared on the From the Blocks Podcast with Neal Brennan. “That’s the main thing about Chuck Morgan. He could care less.”

In spite of his thrifty ways, Chuck always gave her and their three kids a great life. The couple has three children—Charlie, Maggie and Tess—as well as two grandchildren that they adore.

Married for 33 years, Leanne and her husband Chuck have built a life to be proud of—even if her keys to a healthy marriage are a little unconventional. “We go to bed mad,” she said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “You know how they always say don’t do that? We got to bed mad because we’re tired and we don’t feel like resolving conflict. We’ve been having the same fight for thirty-something years!” she joked. Regardless of their differences, fans of Leanne can rest assured that Chuck will continue to be both her greatest support and her best comedic material for many years to come.
