No signs of trauma in death of Walker County boy
A child found dead after an extensive search in Walker County had no signs of trauma or assault, although authorities are still unsure of the cause of death.
Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said Johnathan Boley was found Friday, his body partially in a pond just two miles from his home off Highway 195. His black lab, Buck, was found alive by his side.
The child’s father, Jameson Boley, was arrested during the search on charges of chemical endangerment and unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device. Authorities said the charges are not related to the boy’s death.
Jameson Boley is considered innocent until proven guilty.
An autopsy report revealed new details surrounding the 4-year-old boy who was found dead with his dog by his side in Alabama.
According to the autopsy, Johnathan Boley had no signs of trauma or assault-type injuries.
Johnathan was found Friday afternoon about two miles from his fatherâs home after a three-day search in the Thach community of Walker County.
He was found partially in a body of water, authorities said.
Walker County officials said they began searching for Johnathan after he went missing on New Yearâs Eve. He was located about two miles from the home. His dog, Buck, was found alive with him.

Authorities said the boy was believed to be in danger after he went missing while visiting his father.
The group that found Johnathan was a group of pure volunteers.
Jameson Boley, Johnathanâs father, is facing multiple charges stemming from a search of his home while the boy was missing.

Boley has been charged with unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device. Sheriff Nick Smith said that methamphetamine was also found in the home.
Smith said Boley was taken to the Blount County Jail to âkeep him separated from the county and people he may know in the jail.â
Smith said the official results of the autopsy for Johnathan are still pending.
