An 18-year-old teen, who just graduated from high school, has been identified after his body was found in 90 feet of water in a Wisconsin lake following a boating incident.
“He had such a positive outlook on life and was going and doing so many great things,” Shane Radosevich told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel of his son, Aiden Radosevich, who died from the episode over the weekend in Waukesha County. “It was just heartbreaking that he doesn’t get to finish what he started.”
On Friday, June 19, at 10:41 p.m. local time, officials were dispatched to Okauchee Lake following reports of a missing boater who had fallen overboard, the Village of Lac La Belle Police Department said in a statement. Boats from multiple agencies began searching the area before pausing at 1 a.m. the next morning.
At 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, the search resumed, and five hours later, rescue teams located the victim in approximately 90 feet of water, officials said. Dive teams then helped retrieve the body of the 18-year-old teen from the bottom of the lake.
“Our sincere condolences go out to the victim’s family and everyone involved in this tragedy,” the police department said.
The victim has since been identified as Aiden Radosevich of Pewaukee, Wisc., a spokesperson for the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE. An investigation into the cause of death is underway.
Following the tragic incident, Aiden has been remembered for his kindness and intense drive. He graduated from Pewaukee High School this year and was also enrolled at Waukesha Community Technical College, with plans to attend another university to receive his degree in finance, the Sentinel reported. He loved skiing, grunge music, and building computers. The teen was known for his big smile, his dad told the paper.

“Aiden had just graduated from Pewaukee High School and was working toward his real estate license, full of hope and ambition for the future,” wrote an organizer of a GoFundMe page that will go toward funeral expenses and a memorial. PEOPLE has reached out to the organizer for comment.
The fundraiser has garnered almost $80,000, as of Thursday, June 25. Aiden is survived by his parents, Lauren and Shane Radosevich, and their two other children, an 18-year-old daughter, Abby, and a 19-year-old son, AJ.
As the community mourns the teen, investigators are still determining what caused his death. That Friday night, Aiden was on a boat with a group of people when the incident occurred, ABC affiliate WISN reported.
“This is a very active case that is being thoroughly investigated by our agency along with the Wisconsin Dept of Natural Resources,” Lac La Belle Police Chief Kristen Wraalstad told the outlet on Tuesday, June 23. “There is a lot of information and evidence that we are gathering which will take time and I do not have anything additional to share at this time.”

An investigation is ongoing, and the Lac La Belle Police Department and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for further information.
For now, Aiden’s family is holding his memory close. His dad told WISN, “He will be remembered as a kind soul with a warm heart.”
