Eminem has responded to Kid Rock namedropping him in a video he made in support

EminemĀ has responded toĀ Kid RockĀ namedropping him in a video he made in support of Donald Trump.

The ā€œAll Summer Longā€ hitmaker uploaded a video on Instagram of him playing the acoustic guitar before he turns his attention to his fellow Detroit native.

ā€œNow that I have your attention, let me tell you, I love Eminem, weā€™ve been friends for many years. I donā€™t agree with his politics but I do give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for standing up and not being afraid to be vocal for that which they believe,ā€ the rap-rocker says.

ā€œThinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great. My stance is unequivocally MAGA because I know in my mind, body and soul that president Trump will make America great again. God bless the USA.ā€

Eminem, who has beenĀ a staunch critic of Trumpā€™sĀ since he first ran for president in 2016, took his and Kid Rockā€™s political differences in stride and instead focused on their mutual love of their hometown NFL team.

ā€œHereā€™s one thing @KidRock and I do agree onā€¦ GO @Lions!!!! Appreciate you, Bob,ā€ he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), refering to Rock by his real name.

Eminem previously addressed Kid Rockā€™s support of Trump in a 2017 interview withĀ Vulture, saying: ā€œMe and Bob have been friends since way back in the day, but I havenā€™t spoken to him in a while. The last time I did was when the thing happened to his assistant.

ā€œI reached out and told him I was here for him. As far as the politics, Iā€™m not up on what heā€™s doing. I couldnā€™t tell if he really wanted to run for senator or was just fucking around.ā€

At a recent rally in Detroit,Ā Eminem made it clear that he was backing Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.

In a short speech, Em outlined why he was supporting the Democratic nominee before he introduced former president Barack Obama to the stage.

ā€œIā€™m here tonight for a couple of important reasons,ā€ Em said. ā€œAs most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me. Going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever and I think itā€™s important to use your voice, so Iā€™m encouraging everybody to get out and vote, please.

ā€œI also think that people shouldnā€™t be afraid to express their opinions, and I donā€™t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution or what people will do if you make your opinion known.ā€
