“Star Wars: The Acolyte” is the latest addition to the franchise, but it faced controversy even before its release, with many predicting its failure. The situation worsened when the first episodes aired, revealing a noticeable drop in quality that disappointed both fans and critics. Despite its substantial budget, the show missed the mark.

Recently, “The Acolyte” was officially canceled, sparking several social movements. The hashtag #SaveTheAcolyte began trending on X, and a Change.org petition was launched, urging Disney to reconsider its decision.

In the aftermath, some cast members, like Amandla Stenberg, who played Osha/Mae, have faced online harassment, while others, such as Manny Jacinto and Lee Jung-jae, have been praised. Many fans are eager to see them in future Star Wars projects, especially if the franchise revisits the High Republic era.

So, what does Keanu Reeves have to do with “The Acolyte”? According to recent insider reports by Jeffrey Sneider, Reeves was considered for the role of Master Sol, which ultimately went to Lee Jung-jae. Jung-jae’s portrayal of the character has been widely acclaimed.

In the final episode of “The Acolyte,” Master Sol is killed by his former Padawan Osha, who has succumbed to the dark side.

Fans were relieved, as having “The Acolyte” on his resume might not have been ideal for the actor, and his death in the show means he won’t appear in future Star Wars projects. However, insider Sneider has reported that Keanu Reeves is still being considered for a role in the franchise. Given his previous performances and demeanor, he could be a great fit for any Jedi role.

Interestingly, Reeves would join his “The Matrix” co-star Carrie-Anne Moss, who played Jedi Master Indara. Moss’s character was controversially killed off in the first episode but made a return in flashbacks in episode 7.
