There’s no wonder why Theron’s son got infatuated with Blunt. After all, who would not fall in love with the actress’ angelic face? It even got to a point when the kid no longer noticed his own mother.
Charlize Theron’s Son Was Captivated By Emily Blunt’s Regal Beauty
In an interview with ExtraTV, actress Charlize Theron shared how her then 4-year-old son was mesmerized by Emily Blunt on the set of The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
My son is in love with her. He thinks she’s, like, the most beautiful princess ever. Yeah, it’s crazy. [The kids] were all there. But, I didn’t even exist, he was just like, ‘Ahhh, she’s a princess.’ I’m like, ‘I’m a queen.’

Theron portrayed the wicked Queen Ravenna while Blunt played Freya, the Ice Queen. In the same conversation, Blunt recalled seeing Jackson pay close attention to his mother in one scene.
He was watching her close up and she was really going for it, like, and the intensity, and it was just one of those heightened scenes and Jackson was watching her close up and he went, ‘Oooh, Mama’s spicy.’ She’s a spicy mama.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress laughed and said, “That’s my son, that’s my son. I have no idea where he even came up with that word choice.” Emily wondered where Jackson heard it from, and her costar answered, “I have no idea — at school.”
Theron’s son might have fallen in love with Blunt’s princess-like appearance in the film, but he still thought his own mother was the fairest of them all.
Charlize Theron And Emily Blunt On Playing Queens In The Huntsman: Winter’s War
Speaking with FilmIsNow on YouTube, Blunt and Theron shared what attracted them to play their respective roles. The A Quiet Place star said she liked that Freya is “a nuanced villain”:
I think that you see the origin of the character is this very pure-hearted girl who wants very simple things, is completely content with the idea that she has yet to discover her power, may never discover her power, and then through great loss and tragedy morphs into this evil Ice Queen.

On the other hand, the Atomic Blonde actress admitted she was satisfied with her portrayal of Queen Ravenna in the first movie and that she felt like her story was complete. However, when approached with a new script, she thought it interesting that they found an organic way to revive her from the dead.
Despite their spectacular performances, The Huntsman: Winter’s War did not live up to the success of the first installment. As per Box Office Mojo, it only grossed over $164 million against a budget of $115 million.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War is available to watch on Netflix.
