Emily in Paris star Lucas Bravo was frustrated with Gabriel’s choices in one of the major plot twists in Season 4 Part 2
Lily Collins is back with Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2, although the name of the show might not be accurate anymore. The fourth season clearly hints at a potential fifth season for the series. The biggest spoiler from the current batch of episodes is that Emily and Gabriel are no longer together. This breakup has hurt Gabriel actor Lucas Bravo more than any fans out there.

Bravo shared in a recent interview that the season 4 arc of his character had made him grow apart from Gabriel. While Emily & Gabriel shippers usually ignore the foundational red flags in their relationship, Gabriel’s actions in the latest season are problematic even for them.
Lucas Bravo Is Not Happy With His Character Arc In Emily In Paris Season 4
Lucas Bravo played Gabriel, who played the love interest to Lily Collins‘ Emily from the beginning of Emily In Paris. Bravo appeared for an interview with DC Film Girl for the promotions of Season 4 Part 2 and revealed how he could not love his character anymore.
While he understood that his assignment required him to play the character without judgment, Bravo was not happy with Gabriel’s choices this season. He shared that this season’s storyline has made him grow apart from Gabriel. Bravo shared with DC Film Girl:
It’s very hard when you love a character… You cannot be a character if you have a judgment over him, otherwise it makes you exterior. So when I’m in character I want him to be the best version of himself. But yeah, the choices he made this season made me grow apart from him.
While he still played the character with all the nuances needed for him, Bravo shared that it was difficult for him to understand a few things about Gabriel’s motivations. Bravo particularly expressed frustration about the ski slope scene. In the scene from Episode 6, Emily is forced to spend the holiday celebration with Camille’s family at a German ski chalet.
Gabriel is supposed to stay beside the inexperienced Emily during skiing but he chooses to ski with Camille due to her pregnancy. Emily encounters an accident and loses her phone, only to be saved by the new handsome Italian guy in the series Marcello. She confronts Gabriel and breaks up with him as she is certain that Gabriel will always choose Camille. Bravo shared his frustration about the scene:
I was a bit frustrated about the ski slope obviously because after four seasons running after each other, breaking up over just five minutes of skiing felt a bit weird and him being a bit stubborn… being like but she’s having my baby… like that’s all that matters in the world.
As the season ends, Gabriel misses Emily, who’s now in Rome. The season leaves a hint that Bravo’s character might travel to Rome to win her back. While the couple is not endgame in the series, writers should owe an apology to Bravo for this season’s poor depiction of his character.
Emily In Paris Is Renewed For A Fifth Season

Netflix has surprised fans and critics with its decision to move forward with a fifth season of Emily in Paris. The decision came just days after the release of Season 4 Part 2. It appears that the show is a guilty-pleasure watch for many fans, who would love to see the cringy storylines develop. They also loved to see Paris, which was one of the few good things about the series.
The new season will portray the protagonist in Rome and will possibly explore a love triangle. While the season might engage some section of the audience in a ‘will they won’t they’ trope between Emily and Gabriel, the show will also introduce a romance between Emily and Marcello.
Emily In Paris Season 4 Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
