Agatha All Along just premiered episode 7, and it might be the best one yet. This episode is filled with numerous revelations, some heart-wrenching and others shrouded in mystery.
The spotlight was on Lilia Calderu, a character we know to be a master divinator. As such, she had to face the Trial of Time.
The episode aimed for a successful card reading before time ran out. Throughout the episode, we learn that Lilia has been living her life out of sequence since childhood, and this disorientation has resurfaced recently.
Lilia’s first “time skip” occurred during Billy Kaplan’s Bar Mitzvah when she cast a sigil on him, shortly before he tragically died in a car accident and was then merged (or replaced?) with reincarnated Billy Maximoff.
To successfully complete the trial, Lilia needed to determine the positions of the coven members on the board, and sadly, she had to come to terms with her impending death. Just before the trial concluded, Lilia realized that her path led to death. The last coven member on the board was represented by a Death card, leading her to confirm our suspicions about Rio Vidal.
Rio’s identity had actually been leaked weeks prior, thanks to a Marvel merchandise reveal. Funko Pops showcased both her and Billy’s true identities, indicating that by the end of the series, Billy would take on the name “Wiccan.”
What’s particularly intriguing about this revelation is that Rio Vidal is now officially the fourth cosmic entity introduced in the MCU, alongside The Watcher from What If…?, the Living Tribunal mentioned in Doctor Strange, and Eternity from Love and Thunder.
Unlike other cosmic entities, Rio appears to have an active role in the narrative, significantly impacting the story.
As the list of cosmic entities in the MCU continues to expand, it’s likely that we’ll see even more introduced as we approach the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
We previously discussed that introducing Lady Death in Infinity War was considered at one point. Ross Marquand revealed that the Russo Brothers ultimately decided against introducing her late in the Infinity Saga. Instead, Red Skull’s cloak in Avengers: Infinity War served as a subtle nod to Lady Death’s role in the Infinity Gauntlet comic storyline.
This turned out to be a fortunate decision, as Plaza is an ideal fit for the character, making Lady Death a fantastic addition to Agatha All Along.
