In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, he finds a new connection with Andrea (Andy) Freeman, a prosecutor who used to work with Maggie. The two bond with one another because of their playful banter, passion for the law, and a shared love of food. At the end of The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, the couple breaks up, but the show seemingly leaves the door open for them to rekindle their romance. Sadly, the probability seems slimmer than ever before after Ted Humphrey shared one detail.
The Lincoln Lawyer’s Showrunner Confirms Maggie Is The Love Of Mickey’s Life
Mickey May Never Fully Move On From Maggie In The Lincoln Lawyer
After The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, many fans hoped that Mickey would choose Andy rather than go back to Maggie. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem very likely after Ted Humphrey’s recent interview with Screen Rant. The Lincoln Lawyer‘s co-showrunner clarified the significant role that Maggie plays in Mickey’s life, saying this:
But in terms of Maggie, what’s relevant, especially from the standpoint of the Andy story, is that Maggie is the true love of his life, the great love of his life. He’ll never get over her. Especially given the Hayley situation and everything, [Maggie is] his North Star.
So far as harsh realities go, the news that Maggie is the love of Mickey’s life is not all that shocking as much as it is disappointing. There was legitimate hope for Andy and Mickey in The Lincoln Lawyer, considering the character and relationship are a significant deviation from the source material. However, the flashbacks in season 3 and Maggie’s brief return after Eddie’s death seemed like a primer for her bigger return in the next season, reminding the audience that she’s the person Mickey truly wants.
Maggie’s Return In The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 Means Mickey & Andy’s Romance Is Doomed
Mickey May Get Back Together With Maggie Instead Of Andy
In The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, Mickey moves on with a new romantic partner, Andy Freeman. They end the season on amicable terms, ending their relationship because they’re both too busy with their work to put their full time and energy into a relationship. This leaves the door open for them to continue their relationship in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4. Unfortunately, the likelihood of them getting back together in the next season went down drastically because of Humphrey’s comments and the news that Maggie will play a bigger role in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4.
If he leans on Maggie during the most challenging part of his life, the Sam Scales murder trial, then they will probably reconcile. The Law of Innocence’s book storyline, which is the source material for the season, also includes essential details about the divorced couple’s progression as co-parents and exes during this dark period. All things considered, Andy and Mickey’s romance will come to a permanent end in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4.
