The Adam Brody and Kristen Bell smash hit romantic comedy is coming back for more

It’s official — the Adam Brody renaissance is not ending yet!
On Thursday, Oct. 10, Netflix announced that its breakout romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This has been renewed for a second season, delighting fans who are desperate for more from Brody’s Noah and Kristen Bell’s Joanne.
Season 2 will see Girls‘ Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan join as executive producers and showrunners, while Nora Silver also joins as an executive producer.
In a statement, the show’s creator Erin Foster — who pulled from her own real-life love story with her husband Simon Tikhman when creating the show — said that the series “will forever be a career highlight for me.”
“The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed,” Foster, 42, said.
“I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls… Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”

Work has already begun on season 2, and Kaplan said in a statement that he’s “already having the best time working on it,” while Konner called it a “dream.”
“Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward from Girls,” Konner said in a statement.
Along with Bell and Brody, Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons will return for season 2, along with Stephanie Faracy (Lynn), Michael Hitcock (Henry), Tovah Feldshuh (Bina), Paul Ben-Victor (Ilan), Emily Arlook (Rebecca), Jackie Tohn (Esther), Sherry Cola (Ashley) and Shiloh Berman (Miriam).
Foster had teased the possibility of the series getting a season 2 earlier this month, as she told IndieWire, “We’re getting a really positive response, and so I think the conversations have definitely started to happen about a potential season two.”
Given where season 1 left off, a season 2 makes all the more sense — and was in high demand from fans. After 10 episodes of ups and downs, season 1 ended with Joanne letting Noah go as she admitted that converting to Judaism was an overwhelming commitment for her, and she knew that the job of head Rabbi was too important to Noah to give up.
However, after she nobly let him go, he chased her down and the season ended with yet another stop-everything kiss from the pair — and a whole lot of unanswered questions.

Ahead of the show’s premiere on Sept. 26, Bell told PEOPLE that Nobody Wants This is a “modern romcom” as she detailed why the show pulled her out of her pseudo-acting retirement.
“I love that the characters are what, 38? And that it addresses everything from the perils of dating apps to what it actually means for people with different backgrounds and outlooks on life to bridge those differences in the name of love,” Bell, 44, said. “It’s a grown-up rom-com.”
