Although Arcane is one of the highest-rated anime series on Netflix, it still couldn’t beat Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series in one major element.
The anime community has recently seen a sudden rise in animated series that are based on video game adaptations. The biggest examples of these series are Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Castlevania, Arcane, etc. These series are developed around the storylines of popular video games and offer a unique perspective on the intriguing and thrilling adventures within the game.

Out of all the animated series adapted from video games, the one that is currently the highest-rated adaptation on Netflix is Arcane. Arcane is an exclusive Netflix anime series created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee and is based on the universe of the popular multiplayer online battle arena video game, League of Legends.
There has always been a tough competition between Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners because of the multiple similarities between the two stories. While Arcane might succeed in terms of popularity and ratings on Netflix, there is one crucial aspect of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated series that makes it better than Arcane in a major way.
The Similarities Between Arcane And Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Although Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are adapted from two completely different video games, they have quite a few similarities that are hard to ignore. The first and most important parallel between the two is the futuristic worlds they are set in. Both Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are set in technological worlds, where innovation and mechanisms have caused the doom of humanity in a major way.
Secondly, both Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners focus on the individual struggles of the main characters and how they affect everyone around them. In the case of Arcane, it is the character development of the two sisters, Vi and Jinx, and in the case of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, it is the character development of David and Lucy.

And finally, the animation style. While the animation style of the two series might look different, both Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follow a similar flashy theme. However, Arcane’s animation style might be a little better and smoother than Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ Advantage Over Arcane
As mentioned above, both video game adaptations have quite a few similarities, but in terms of popularity and rating, Arcane takes the lead. This is because it has more seasons, and the portrayal of the narrative in the series is more dramatic and thrilling than in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. However, there is one aspect where Cyberpunk: Edgerunners takes the lead.

This characteristic refers to the series’ capacity to entice fans to play the original game. Many times, fans have mentioned how Cyberpunk: Edgerunners entices them to play the game.

However, they are frightened by Arcane’s depiction of the League of Legends universe. The brutality and the dark tone of Arcane make it less appealing to the fans.
Irrespective of that, both Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are two of the greatest video game adaptations in the world, and they are highly rated on Netflix. While Arcane is currently streaming the first part of its second season, Cyberpunk is awaiting another spin-off series that was announced by Netflix.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Arcane are available to watch on Netflix.
