Jenna Ortega’s iconic Netflix show Wednesday is making its way to the small screen anytime soon while some more casting news has recently gone public. With some characters leaving for good and some finally being introduced in the series, Wednesday is seemingly coming to the point where the show’s overall focus will finally be put on what fans have been impatient to see.
The upcoming season’s new figures and some other possible appearances seem to confirm that the series’ plot is going back to its roots. It has been recently confirmed that Wednesday’s season 2 will feature Grandmama, one of the original characters and Wednesday’s grandmother, portrayed by Joanna Lumley.
Though it remains unclear whether Grandmama will appear to be Morticia or Gomez’s mother, the show’s cast update seems to make it clear that Wednesday’s whole storyline is finally shifting from the main character’s school life to her family home which happens to be the Addams family’s grand mansion.
Aiming at showing the Addamses from a different angle, the show’s brand new storyline with Grandmama is also likely to become a major incentive for introducing other family members, including the one that over the years of its existence in the cinema history has become a true icon.
Being a hirsute creature wearing only his signature bowler hat and round sunglasses, Cousin Itt made his first appearance in the 1964 television series The Addams Family.
The character’s peculiar look, as well as his hilarious way of speaking using only high-pitched gibberish words that only his family’s members can understand, made him an absolute favorite for those who follow The Addams Family’s adaptation on TV and in cinema.
Given that Grandmama is set to intervene in the Addams’ life pretty soon, there’s a chance that some more family members will follow her suit, including Cousin Itt.
What gives it even more of a probability is the fact that Wednesday’s leading actress Jenna Ortega once admitted she would love to have Cousin Itt in the famous story’s latest TV adaptation, so we may expect the actress to influence one of the creators’ decisions for the upcoming season.
